Minimum 5 years' experience with MasterTax, 2 years in UKG Ready, and strong accounting skills, with proficiency in Excel.
Position Summary The Payroll Tax Accountant is responsible for monitoring, managing, reconciling, reporting and paying payroll tax to the appropriate agencies via MasterTax. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: · Import daily processed payrolls to MasterTax · Setup Tax Service piece in UKG for new companies and import new company setup to MasterTax · EFTPS Enrollment for new companies · Process daily payments due in MasterTax · Monthly IL wage report (first two months of each quarter) · Input IN SOC codes for all new IN SUTA employees · Quarterly tax return filing and payments · Research and resolve any tax issues that are sent by clients · Notify account managers of any tax account numbers needed and any online access needed for tax accounts · Get tax rates updated for the new year Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) · Minimum 5 years’ experience in MasterTax Required · Minimum 2 years’ experience in UKG Ready Required · Minimum 2 years’ accounting experience Required · Requires persistence, accuracy, attention to strict agency deadlines and requirements · Ability to work closely with other team members but also work independently · Strong accounting skills, detail oriented, proficient in Microsoft Excel · Ability to quickly learn and use various tax programs both internal and external · Able to enter accurate financial /numerical data · Analytical and critical problem-solving skills · Ability to apply discretion, trust with confidential company information Note This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position.
