Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Stress Test Technician. The Stress Test Technician plays a critical role in the cardiopulmonary diagnostic team by assisting in the evaluation of patients' cardiovascular and pulmonary health through supervised stress testing procedures. Under the direction of a physician or supervising clinician, the technician prepares patients for various forms of cardiac stress tests – including treadmill and pharmacologic testing – by attaching monitoring equipment, explaining procedures, and observing patients throughout the process to ensure safety and accuracy. This role requires strong clinical knowledge of cardiac physiology, EKG interpretation, and emergency response protocols, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to provide a supportive experience for patients undergoing testing. The Stress Test Technician also collaborates with physicians and other healthcare staff to ensure accurate data collection, documentation, and timely communication of test results. • *All candidates must have a profile on axamedical.com** Key Responsibilities: • Gather medical histories and assess patients to determine suitability for stress testing. • Educate patients about the stress testing process, including what to expect before, during, and after the test. • Ensure patients are appropriately attired and prepared for the stress test, including attaching necessary monitoring equipment. • Perform exercise stress tests, pharmacologic stress tests, or other types of assessments as directed by healthcare providers. • Continuously monitor patients’ heart rate, blood pressure, and other vital signs throughout the stress test. • Identify and respond to any abnormal physiological responses during the test, including chest pain or significant changes in vital signs. • Prepare and maintain equipment used during stress tests, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning properly. • Follow safety protocols to minimize risks to patients during the testing process. • Record detailed observations and results from stress tests in patient records accurately and promptly. Job Description: • Generate and present reports on test findings for physicians and healthcare providers for further evaluation. • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. • Provide post-test instructions and discuss any necessary follow-up actions or referrals. • Ensure adherence to regulatory and safety standards in conducting stress tests. • Engage in efforts to improve testing processes and patient care practices. • Keep abreast of advancements in stress testing techniques and cardiovascular health. • Engage in ongoing training and education to enhance skills and knowledge in the field. • Support healthcare teams in other related diagnostic procedures or patient care tasks as needed. • Ensure testing areas are clean, organized, and safe for patient use. Education and Experience: • Degree in the Medical Assistance field • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) • Microsoft and Google Office Suite: 1 year (Preferred) • High levels of communication • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
