Description Procurement Specialist – Department of Defense (DoD) We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented DoD Procurement Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex procurement projects within the defense sector, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and supporting national security initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in defense procurement processes and a strong understanding of government contracting requirements. Key Responsibilities • Provide expert guidance on DoD procurement policies, procedures, and regulations to internal teams and external partners. • Develop, review, and negotiate contracts, solicitations, and procurement documents in accordance with federal acquisition standards. • Support the planning and execution of procurement strategies for defense projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. • Conduct market research to identify potential vendors and assess their capabilities in meeting defense requirements. • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to defense procurement. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and technical departments, to facilitate procurement activities. • Maintain accurate documentation and records of procurement actions for audit and reporting purposes. • Stay current on changes in defense procurement regulations and industry best practices. Skills And Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; advanced certifications such as CFCM or CPCM are preferred. • Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in DoD procurement, contracting, or acquisition. • Strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other relevant regulations. • Proven ability to develop and negotiate complex contracts and solicitations. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. • Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one is highly desirable.
