In a $500B+ market where missed calls mean lost business, we’re building the category-defining platform for AI-driven customer engagement The Role We're seeking a dynamic Events Manager to join our growing startup team at Avoca. You'll be the driving force behind our external customer events, conferences, and experiential marketing initiatives, helping us build meaningful connections with our community and showcase our brand on a larger stage. What You’ll Do Event Strategy & Planning • Develop and execute comprehensive event strategies that align with Avoca's business objectives and brand vision • Plan and manage end-to-end execution of customer events, industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events • Create detailed project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans for all events • Conduct venue research, contract negotiations, and vendor management Customer Experience & Engagement • Design memorable customer experiences that strengthen relationships and drive engagement • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to ensure events support lead generation and customer retention goals • Manage event registration processes, attendee communications, and follow-up strategies • Gather and analyze event feedback to continuously improve future experiences Cross-functional Collaboration • Partner with marketing, sales, and product teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation • Work closely with design teams on event materials, signage, and digital assets • Coordinate speaker arrangements, panel discussions, and product demonstrations • Support executive team with speaking engagements and industry representation Operations & Logistics • Oversee all logistical aspects including catering, audio-visual requirements, transportation, and accommodations • Manage event budgets and track ROI metrics • Ensure compliance with venue requirements, permits, and safety regulations • Handle crisis management and contingency planning Who you Are • 3-5 years of event management experience, preferably in a startup or tech environment • Proven track record of managing events ranging from intimate customer gatherings (25-50 people) to large conferences (500+ attendees) • Strong project management skills with experience using tools like Asana, Monday, or similar platforms • Excellent vendor negotiation and contract management abilities • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail • Natural relationship builder who thrives on creating connections - you have a history of partnering with sales orgs to drive tangible outcomes from events • Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving capabilities • Creative thinker who can bring fresh ideas to event concepts and execution • Self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced startup environment Why Avoca At Avoca, you’ll be part of a team that’s building a category-defining company at the center of a massive market opportunity.
