About The Role Avalere Health is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Vaccines Team within the Policy Practice. We rely on deep subject matter expertise and understanding of the business issues facing our clients to assess how the changing policy landscape impacts the pharmaceutical industry, managed care plans, providers, and consumers. We provide analytic support and advisory services, including regulatory analysis, evidence generation/review support, policy analysis, legislative strategy, and modeling of proposed and enacted policies to a wide range of clients across the healthcare industry, using both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Among Avalere’s many capabilities, its dedicated team of vaccine subject matter experts serves as trusted advisors on strategy development and implementation to leading vaccine manufacturers and has deep relationships and experience in the larger policy and advocacy community. The team tracks global, federal, and state vaccine policy developments, generates evidence for formal advisory group review and recommendation development, supports new product commercialization strategy, and deciphers market access and reimbursement trends and challenges. This position would focus primarily on vaccine business insights and strategy. \n What you'll do Contribute subject matter expertise on vaccine policy-related projects, with a focus on evidence review for policymaking and recommendation development activities and the broader impact of enacted and proposed immunization policies. Assist senior staff with account stewardship through management of cross-functional projects to solve complex client problems, and engage clients with novel solutions and ideas related to vaccine policy and commercialization strategy. Coordinate subject matter experts (SMEs), technical staff, vendors/partners, client teams, and others to ensure the efficient operation and delivery of projects and programs under their management. Support the development of both strategic and tactical recommendations for vaccine clients for both brand-level and above-brand priorities. Manage multiple clients, as well as short- and long-term deliverables, to ensure that all of Avalere’s knowledge and expertise are available to meet client needs. Troubleshoot client issues in a timely and appropriate manner with minimal management oversight and attention to resources. Assist in the conceptualization, drafting and review of scopes of work, budgets, timelines, and other business documents. Act as project manager taking direction to interpret and execute—from start to finish—a broad range of client projects involving diverse cross-functional (e.g., relating to analytics) and cross-practice (e.g., relating to policy, coverage, and reimbursement) teams. Use subject matter experience and general understanding of healthcare issues to collaborate and bridge work between practices, becoming a recognized resource within the firm and to clients. Develop and maintain a professional level of knowledge regarding Avalere Health’s services and products. About you 3+ years of relevant work experience, which could include employment at biopharmaceutical manufacturing, health sciences consulting and advisory services, public sector (e.g. CDC) roles, or other immunization-related public-private partnerships and organizations. A graduate degree in public policy, health sciences, health policy, epidemiology/biostatistics or public health more broadly. A masters degree is desirable. Subject matter expertise should reflect a proficient level of understanding of: The vaccines therapeutic area and immunization policy broadly Qualitative and quantitative public health research methods Primary and secondary research and analytic methods Evidence generation, review, and appraisal for technical review Policy analysis and characterization of legislative impacts, challenges, and strength Skills, Experience, and Other Job-Related Requirements: Familiarity with translation and synthesis of epidemiological, clinical, and medical data often use to support evidence-based medicine Experience analyzing policy proposals, legislation, and/or regulation and translating findings to varying audiences appropriately Excellent attention to detail Proven ability to initiate and drive projects through to completion Superior oral and written communications skills in order to clearly and effectively convey issues, reports, and other deliverables Responsive, action-oriented demeanor Ability to build trust and cultivate relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders Problem definition and resolution skills Commitment to working in a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
