What You'll Do As our Senior Program Manager, Finance Transformation you will lead programs to inspire transformation within Avalara's global Finance organization. As an Individual Contributor, you will align technology, process, and strategy — ensuring scalable, efficient, and compliant financial operations. You will help deliver automation, AI across core Finance responsibilities. The Senior Program Manager operates at an enterprise level, translating our goals into structured programs that produce measurable outcomes. You will report to the Senior Director, Finance AI Transformation. This is a remote position in the United States. #LI-Remote What Your Responsibilities Will Be • Lead enterprise-wide finance transformation programs from planning through execution, aligned with Avalara's Finance AI Operations strategy. • Manage programs across Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, IT, and Engineering to deliver automation, systems integration, and process improvements. • You will build structured roadmaps with clear milestones, risks, and success metrics. • Establish governance, compliance, and change management practices that support audit readiness and global adoption What You'll Need to be Successful • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field. • 8+ years of experience in program or project management, with a focus on finance transformation or operations. • Track record leading large-scale, initiatives in global or high-growth environments. • You have knowledge of finance processes and systems (e.g., Record-to-Report, Procure- to-Pay, Quote-to-Cash). • Experience with compliance and controls frameworks, including audit and SOX. • Proficiency with project tools such as Smartsheet, SharePoint, and Confluence. • You are experienced in executive communication and stakeholder management across functions and time zones. Preferred Qualifications • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field. • Certification in PMP, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma methodologies. • Experience using AI, RPA, or analytics to automate finance operations. • Familiarity with financial compliance in SaaS or global enterprise environments. Pay Range Details The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations. Colorado $126,000- $201,600 (annually) Washington $126,00-222,800 (annually) California $126,000-$244,000 (annually) NYC $152,600-$244,000 (annually) The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual salary/wage may be based on various factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and the employee’s role.
