We’re seeking a hands-on, detail-driven Area Service Manager to support our Northern California Market. This is a remote role, working from home while providing regular in-market leadership, quality control, and technical support to our field teams. WHAT YOU’LL DO Lead, support, and mentor 2 Service Leads and 14 Service Technicians across Northern California. Maintain consistent quality control and ensure all work meets Authority HVAC’s best-practice standards. Conduct regular site visits to evaluate workmanship, safety practices, communication, and customer satisfaction. Provide technical troubleshooting support and escalation assistance for complex service issues. Identify training gaps and deliver hands-on coaching, skills development, and ongoing training recommendations. Assist with and conduct safety training, reinforce safety protocols, and help ensure safe work practices across the team. Partner with our Fleet Management team to help keep field vehicles properly maintained, safe, and in working order. Support new technician onboarding and contribute to performance reviews, mentorship, and development planning. Drive adherence to NTE compliance, accurate documentation, communication standards, and efficient workflow. Collaborate with Dispatch, Procurement, Project Management, and Account Management to ensure seamless job execution. Strong diagnostic and technical capabilities across commercial HVAC systems. Ability to coach and develop technicians at varying experience levels in a constructive, supportive manner. Highly organized with the ability to manage a distributed team and balance admin work with field leadership. Clear communication skills with a strong emphasis on professionalism and team alignment. Proficiency with service platforms such as BuildOps, ServiceChannel, NetSuite, and mobile field tools. Must reside in Northern California and be able to travel regularly throughout the region. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
