About the Role As a Senior Software Engineer on Consumer, you will build the end-to-end experiences that help homeowners understand their options, evaluate financing, and connect with installers in their area. You will ship across the stack and across the problem space. That includes product features, experimentation and analytics, operational tooling, and the integrations that keep the funnel healthy and measurable. This is a high-ownership role for someone who can move fast, communicate clearly, and make smart tradeoffs. You will help the team deliver MVPs that meet business goals, then iterate with real customer feedback and data. Your Impact Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to build and improve our consumer-facing platform Design, develop, and deploy high-quality code across frontend and backend that directly impacts the solar buying experience Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to implementation, testing, and deployment Champion code quality through thoughtful reviews and testing, ensuring reliability and scalability Contribute to continuous improvement by proposing solutions, participating in retrospectives, and improving team processes Deliver end-to-end work that may span product delivery, analytics, operations, infrastructure, tooling, and integrations What You Bring 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping high-quality work Full-stack experience in JavaScript, plus strong proficiency in Python or Ruby Experience with modern front-end frameworks, with React strongly preferred Experience working with relational databases and SQL Comfort owning work end to end, from scoping and implementation through testing and release Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively partner with product managers, designers, and other engineers A passion for solving complex problems and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code A proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative, ask questions, and propose solutions Nice to Haves Experience with MongoDB Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL tools such as Snowflake, Fivetran, and dbt Passion for renewable energy, climate tech, or building tools that accelerate real-world impact What We Offer 🏖️Flexible PTO - Take the time when you need it 🍼Parental Leave - 16 weeks with 100% base salary + gradual return to work 💰WFH Stipend - An initial $500 (Non-engineers) or $750 (Engineering roles) 🏢 Coworking Stipend - $300 / month if you prefer to be at a coworking facility near you ☀️Energize Fridays - Company-wide days to log off and recharge 📶Connectivity Stipend - Up to $100 / month towards internet or phone Learning & Development - $720 / annually to use towards professional development (You have to complete 90 days of employment to receive this stipend) 🩺Medical, Dental, and Vision - Premiums are 100% covered for Aurorans and 90% for dependents Please take a look at our U.S. Benefits Booklet for a deeper dive into our offerings Where Aurorans are: Aurora currently has teams within the US, Canada, Mexico, and Germany with additional locations on the horizon. Our pay ranges are anchored to the median of the market for companies of our size and industry. Our pay for new hires is typically set at the start of the position's pay range. This allows for financial growth within the role as the employee builds experience and displays a track record of performance success at Aurora.
