The Remote Assist team within the Aurora Services organization is responsible for onboard, backend, and frontend development of the Remote Assist service that enables human operators to provide support to autonomous vehicles with detailed situational awareness through live streamed video, perception, and vehicle status data. We are looking for a talented entry-level Software Engineer to join the Remote Assist team with the potential to contribute across the full stack. In this role you will: Help build the mission-critical Remote Assist service used to support Aurora’s autonomous fleet. Work across a complex tech stack with frontend, backend, and onboard systems working together. Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code to ensure we maintain a reliable service. Gain deep experience with a variety of technologies like Typescript, React, Golang, gRPC, C++, and AWS. Required Qualifications: BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 1 year of internship or professional engineering experience. A solid grasp of computer science concepts and software engineering principles. Proficiency in frontend development, backend development, and the integration of both into a functional web tool. A willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving requirements. The ability to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Desirable Qualifications: Experience with Typescript and React for frontend development. Experience with Golang, gRPC, and AWS for backend development. Experience in onboard C++ development for autonomous vehicles or other robotics. Experience in transportation, logistics, or other time-sensitive operations. The base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $157,000. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
