About Aurelian Aurelian automates non-emergency calls for 9-1-1 centers. Our AI-powered virtual operator intelligently routes, triages, and resolves administrative calls—freeing up human dispatchers to focus on real emergencies. The impact? Faster response times, reduced burnout, and better outcomes for communities across the country. Today, 60-80% of the calls to emergency communication centers (ECCs) aren’t true emergencies—they’re administrative issues like noise complaints, lost pets, or general inquiries. And while ECCs remain chronically understaffed (by as much as 30% nationwide), these calls stretch already-thin resources even further. Aurelian is fixing that. We’re already deployed in ECCs across the U.S., answering thousands of non-emergency calls every day. By reducing hold times and streamlining operations, we’re helping agencies regain control and bring focus back to where it matters most: saving lives. We’re growing fast—and looking for people who want to make a real, measurable difference in the future of public safety As our first Head of Sales , you’ll be responsible for developing and executing our sales strategy, hiring and coaching our first sales reps, and driving predictable revenue growth. This is a hands-on leadership role — you’ll be closing deals directly with customers while laying the foundation for a scalable sales organization. Responsibilities Strategy & Execution : Define the sales motion, build playbooks, and establish repeatable processes for lead generation and closing. Pipeline Ownership : Drive top-of-funnel activity, manage opportunities through the pipeline and facilitate CRM hygeine Customer Focus : Build trusted relationships with key accounts, deeply understand customer pain points, and translate that feedback into product insights. Team Leadership : Recruit, hire, and mentor high-performing sales talent; foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous learning. Collaboration : Partner closely with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to align go-to-market strategy and deliver an exceptional customer experience. Reporting : Build and own forecasting, pipeline reporting, and sales metrics What We’re Looking For 7+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. A track record of consistently exceeding quotas and scaling revenue Experience with $50,000 - $500,000 ACVs Strong operator: skilled at building processes, playbooks, and teams from scratch. Obsessive about building processes Comfort with ambiguity and resource constraints — thrives in a scrappy startup environment. Excellent communication, negotiation, and storytelling skills. Bonus: Experience selling into PSAPs / public safety is a plus
