Full Description

Role Overview We are hiring a Business Development Associate to drive growth through B2B relationship development, strategic partnerships, and consistent field outreach. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building a book of business through face-to-face connection, disciplined follow-up, and a strong understanding of how to move relationships from introduction to trusted partner. You will operate as an extension of the firm’s leadership in the community, representing the firm with professionalism and credibility. Your day-to-day work will focus on identifying high-value partnership opportunities, engaging the right decision-makers, and creating repeatable referral and business pipelines. Success requires a true sales mindset: setting a territory strategy, prospecting continuously, converting meetings into lasting relationships, and tracking performance with the rigor. This is not a passive marketing role. You are expected to actively build and manage a pipeline, develop a structured schedule of outreach, and consistently generate measurable results. The right person is energized by ownership and accountability, comfortable spending most of the week in the field, and skilled at communicating value in a way that earns trust and drives action. You will work closely with firm leadership and intake to ensure partners have a smooth experience, referrals are handled professionally, and relationships are strengthened over time. What You’ll Do Develop new business • Identify, prospect, and secure new referral and partnership relationships in your territory. • Build a predictable pipeline through consistent in-person outreach, follow-up, and relationship management. Grow and manage partner relationships • Maintain a structured cadence of touchpoints with current partners to stay top-of-mind. • Build relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, not just initial contacts. • Expand accounts through deeper engagement, additional locations, and new opportunities. Own a territory plan • Create and execute a weekly route and outreach plan aligned with measurable goals. • Prioritize targets based on opportunity, fit, and performance indicators. • Continuously refine strategy using results, feedback, and conversion outcomes. Represent the firm professionally • Attend networking events, association meetings, and community functions as needed. • Serve as a brand ambassador with a polished, credible presence consistent with a professional services firm. Track activity and outcomes • Log visits, calls, meetings, notes, and lead outcomes in the CRM. • Provide regular reporting on pipeline health, partner engagement, and ROI from outreach. Make it easy to work with us • Provide partners with clear referral and intake information, contact points, and supporting materials. • Remove friction so partners can connect people quickly and confidently. Key Performance Metrics (KPIs) Success will be measured by: • New partner relationships established per month • Qualified leads generated through your network • Lead-to-client conversion rate (quality of opportunities) • Partner engagement and retention (touchpoint consistency) • Territory activity (meetings, follow-ups, and CRM accuracy) Required Qualifications • 3+ years of B2B sales experience (outside sales strongly preferred) • Proven ability to prospect, build pipeline, and close relationship-driven partnerships • Strong communication and people skills, including comfort with gatekeepers and decision-makers • Highly organized and self-directed with excellent follow-through • Professional presence and sound judgment appropriate for representing a law firm • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications • Experience in professional services, healthcare-adjacent industries, or other relationship-based sales environments • CRM proficiency (LeadDocket, Casepeer, Google Sheets, or similar) • Familiarity with ethical rules relevant to legal marketing and business development • Bilingual spanish and english is a plus Compliance All business development activities must comply with applicable professional responsibility rules and state Bar requirements. This role focuses on B2B relationship building, not direct solicitation of individuals. Pay: $57,717.15 - $120,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Experience: • Automotive sales: 3 years (Preferred) • B2B sales: 3 years (Preferred) • Field sales: 3 years (Preferred) Work Location: In person
