Company Overview Our client is a fast-growing Legal Tech startup that turns phone and messaging data into records lawyers can use in court. Founded from firsthand legal experience, the company now serves a few hundred customers and operates a small, close-knit remote team. The business is nearly profitable and preparing for a funding round early next year. Security and compliance are central — the platform is SOC 2 certified and built with GDPR/CCPA readiness in mind. Your Role You’ll build reliable, performant features across React and Node.js that transform raw communication data into exportable legal evidence. As the second engineer on the team, your work directly impacts attorneys and clients managing real-world cases under time pressure. You’ll: Build and maintain web applications using React and Node.js Design full-stack features for extracting and presenting communications data Create intuitive React interfaces for non-technical legal users Develop secure Node.js services for large dataset processing and export Ensure reliable synchronization across iOS, Android, and web Parse complex data tables and integrate new data sources Strengthen authentication, authorization, and audit trails Automate data validation and export testing for error-free results Collaborate weekly with leadership to prioritize and deliver impactful updates You Bring: 1–3 years of experience in production web development Proficiency with React and Node.js (or similar frameworks) Familiarity with APIs and data handling Strong debugging, documentation, and testing habits Excellent written and spoken English Detail-oriented, self-driven, and comfortable working remotely Bonus Points: Experience in startups or remote-first environments Knowledge of Legal Tech or evidence management workflows What’s Offered: Full-time remote contractor (40 hours/week) $3,000–$5,000 USD/month, paid monthly 2–3 weeks paid time off (prorated) Flexible hours with overlap in U.S. business times Direct collaboration with the CTO and founder Visible impact, high autonomy, and growth into senior roles Interview Process: 1️⃣ Discovery Call with Atomic – Intro chat to discuss your background and the opportunity 2️⃣ Live Coding Session – Real-time problem-solving and code walkthrough 3️⃣ Client Interviews with Hearsay – Meet the team and assess fit and collaboration style
