Responsibilities Your Future Role We're looking for a Lead Visual Designer, with a solid online portfolio of relevant work, to join our team, help redefine how we visualize the data behind our experiences, and express value back to our customers through engaging, visually compelling insights. As a Lead IC in an organization consisting of multiple teams across Australia, North America, and India, you will work with cross functional partners, over a broad range of products and surfaces, to find new ways to visually tell our story, and our customer’s stories, through static and animated data visualization and UI components, creation flows or setup wizards, micro-interactions (buttons, likes, stars, check boxes, et al), product illustration, splash screens, first run, app launch, and other experiences. Responsibilities In this role, you will: Elevate our visual expression: extend Atlassian’s brand by advancing visual design, through motion, interaction, and AI-powered personalization, to ensure clarity, cohesion, and impact across Atlassian.com. Lead design quality at scale: deliver high-fidelity design solutions across multiple workstreams and products, balancing brand integrity with product goals. Shape systems & standards: merge design elements into a unified system, ensuring consistency in layouts, grids, typography, and motion across platforms. Drive strategy with stakeholders: partner with Product Marketing, PMs, engineers, and exec stakeholders to align design decisions with business outcomes. Communicate clearly, influence confidently, and prioritize effectively across competing demands. Scale impact through collaboration: work closely with content designers, researchers and creative partners to deliver cohesive and best-in-class experiences. Mentor and coach: be a craft leader and coach for other designers, uplifting skills in visual design, motion, and storytelling, while contributing to a culture of critique, quality, and growth. Champion research-driven design: translate formative and summative research into actionable, opinionated design improvements. Measure success and ensure our design solutions deliver long-term customer value. QualificationsYour background: 8+ years of 2D and 3D visual design experience across complex, data dense, and/or enterprise-level product design and branding contexts Experience in creating and delivering strategic org wide design programs which impact multiple delivery teams Experience in end-to-end UX/product design to design impactful solutions to challenging problems Passion for story-telling, the ability to bring design direction to life with compelling narrative Experience balancing customer needs with business goals, market viability, and technical feasibility Facilitation and cross-functional collaboration skills: you can demonstrate the ability to integrate the work of multiple teams, solicit and synthesize feedback, and facilitate design discussions that lead company wide outcomes and positively influence future delivery roadmaps. Experience in design systems, the ability to identify common components required to support a wide array of customer use cases. Experience measuring success with qualitative and quantitative methods Experience improving process and methodology to increase product value, team velocity and accelerate adoption of new capabilities High level of proficiency with industry standard design tools: Figma, Creative Cloud, C4D or Blender, Redshift or Octane, etc. Learn-it-all mindset. Eagerness to learn and challenge yourself in the face of a fast changing design industry landscape. Nice-to-have: prototyping, motion design, traditional animation, video editing, or compositing skills. Qualifications Compensation At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are: Zone A: $189,000 - $246,750 Zone B: $170,100 - $222,075 Zone C: $157,500 - $205,625 This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
