About Atlanta Community Food Bank: We work with nearly 700 community-based partners—including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, shelters, and senior centers—to distribute an average of 10.3 million pounds of food each month, or approximately 9 million+ meals to our neighbors who are food insecure in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. In February 2023, with the support of a caring community of partners, advocates, donors, and volunteers, we distributed our 1 billionth meal into the community. We are the fourth largest food bank in the country, by distribution volume, and are a member of Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Key Responsibilities • Pick, pack and stage orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring on-time delivery and quality control of products • Ensure picked items match the quantity, quality and specifications required for each other • Assist in inventory counts, stock replenishment and cycle counting activities as needed • Adhere to food safety standards, handling procedures and storage guidelines to ensure food quality and freshness • Contribute to a positive and team-oriented work environment, supporting colleagues and participating in training and development activities as required • Ensure accurate warehouse inventory in all staging and storage areas, including Ambient, Refrigerated and Freezer locations Basic Requirements • Must be 18 years old or older • High School Diploma or GED • Ability to utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) for product placement • Ability to appropriately use electronic WWNS and/or other tracking systems • Properly utilize First in First out (FIFO) procedures • Knowledge with RF Scanners • Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols, OSHA regulations and best practices in workplace safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe material handling techniques Preferred • Extremely proficient in operating stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, and electric pallet jacks, including safe handling, loading/unloading and maneuvering of materials and inventory Pay/Shift/Benefits • Pay Rate: Up to $20/hr • Shift: 40-hour week; Mon-Fri 8am-5pm (or until finished) Must be flexible as needed • Full-Time; 3-month Temp-to Perm position.
