Hiring a Design Engineering Manager with a minimum 15 years direct relevant professional experience in the nuclear industry Active DOE Q clearance required $100 to $125.00 per hour, commensurate with experience Full time permanent <50% travel at first (Wilmington, NC), much less with project familiarity Work location is flexible • Serves as the responsible engineer in charge (Chief Engineer) for engineering projects and deliverables associated with company design engineering projects • Experience managing a multi-disciplinary design engineering organization is essential • Responsibilities include directing the activities of other engineers assigned to projects and advising management on engineering issues • Prior experience managing a multi-disciplinary design engineering organization is essential • Reports to the Chief Operations Officer Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering design discipline is required. An advanced degree is preferred Successful candidate must maintain registration as a Professional Engineer for their discipline in the State of Tennessee and other states • Serves as Lead Engineer/Analyst to support the generation of engineering design deliverables, engineering analyses, calculations, and other engineering documents in accordance with applicable procedures • Acts as independent technical reviewer for engineering documents and deliverables in accordance with the discipline, procedures, and customary engineering practices • Directs engineering personnel in formulating plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications as required • Supervises engineering staff members, project staff, project budgets, compiling reports, and conducting special investigations and studies to produce required deliverables • Reviews design deliverables against safety and other industry standards for compliance • Ensures engineering projects and deliverables stay on budget and within the approved schedule • Manages the engineering team and oversees training of new employees • Extensive experience in the engineering design business, specifically including engineering work at DOE nuclear facilities • Knowledge of Nuclear Regulatory Commission rules related to commercial licensing such as 10 CFR 70 • Expert user of common 2D and 3-D engineering design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PTC Creo, etc. • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing plus advanced presentation skills • High-level proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, and Power Point) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $100.00 - $125.00 per hour Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Vision insurance Work Location: Remote
