Position Summary: The Design Team Lead supports and executes the creative vision of the organization by managing day-to-day design operations under the direction of the Design Director. This role serves as a key organizational and communication bridge between the Design Director, design leads, staff managers, and volunteers. The Design Team Lead ensures that projects move forward efficiently, details are executed with excellence, and scheduling and coordination reduce the operational load on the Design Director. Required Experience & Knowledge Agree to ACC’s doctrinal distinctive and vision as found in our What We Believe/Vision Statement Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in scripture Strong organizational and project-management skills Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex workflows Drafting or technical design skills (hand drafting, CAD, or comparable tools preferred) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to manage schedules and prioritize under pressure High level of personal integrity, discretion, and trustworthiness Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, staff, and volunteers Dependable problem solver who is calm under pressure Respectful of leadership structure and confidentiality Experience volunteering with or working for a nonprofit, ministry, or church environment Background in interior design, staging, architecture, set design, or environmental design preferred Experience collaborating with volunteers Familiarity with design software or visual presentation tools Duties & Responsibilities Engage as part of a team with Athey Creek staff, always being edifying to one another Participate in weekly staff meetings and special events as needed Coordinate and manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, details, and deliverables are met Communicate directly with department leads, managers, staff, and volunteers to align on project needs and expectations Oversee design planning, staging details, and execution across campuses or project areas Track project status and proactively address obstacles before they impact schedules Assist with drafting, layouts, elevations, and visual planning as needed Maintain accuracy and consistency across design documents and presentations Support detailed stage, set, and environment design planning Ensure design intent is clearly communicated to those executing the work Create, manage, and maintain schedules for design projects, meetings, and volunteer coordination Anticipate workload bottlenecks and redistribute tasks when necessary Take operational pressure off the Design Director by managing logistics, follow-ups, and details Serve as a clear, professional point of contact between leadership, staff, and volunteers Facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, and document action items Communicate changes, updates, and expectations clearly and graciously Handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion and integrity Model humility, trustworthiness, and a servant-hearted leadership style Maintain alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and culture Foster a respectful, encouraging environment for staff and volunteers All other duties as assigned
