Why this Role Exists Atempo is expanding fast in North America and as our customer base grows, we’re looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer who can bring deep technical credibility to the table. This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role that sits at the intersection of sales, product, and delivery; helping enterprises design, validate, and implement solutions that move and protect massive amounts of unstructured data. You’ll work directly with enterprise storage teams, cloud architects, and partner engineers from companies like HPE, Qumulo, and DDN, helping them design and deploy resilient data-management architectures using Atempo’s Miria platform for large-scale migration, backup and archive of PB’s of unstructured data. In addition, you’ll work with some of the largest clients in the US, ranging from Fortune 100s, the biggest healthcare systems in the two major government agencies. From bulletproof disaster recovery plans to creating living archives of their most valuable asset, their data, we help customers unlock security, continuity, and future value as AI transforms what’s possible. What you’ll do day-to-day Partner with Sales and Channel Teams to define technical strategies for enterprise accounts. Lead discovery sessions to understand infrastructure, bottlenecks, and data-management workflows. Design and deliver technical demos and Proofs of Concept (POCs) that showcase how Atempo solves real problems in complex environments. Build solution architectures that integrate with storage systems (Isilon, Qumulo, HPE, NetApp), clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP), and existing backup or migration frameworks. Validate scalability and performance across petabyte-scale environments. Collaborate with Product and Engineering to provide customer feedback and help shape roadmap priorities. Support deployment teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to production. Act as the technical voice of the customer inside Atempo, advocating for what really matters in the field. You naturally build trust by being precise, thoughtful, and technically credible. You’re curious and collaborative, always looking for ways to share knowledge and make the team around you better. You take pride in being the person sales brings in when things get technical. Outcomes You will become the technical backbone of Atempo’s U.S. go-to-market team. You will lead and win enterprise-scale POCs, proving value in real customer environments. You will partner closely with your AE to close strategic U.S. and North American deals. You will be recognized internally and externally as a trusted expert in data movement and protection. In the first 90 days Learn Atempo’s Miria platforms inside-out through direct shadowing and training in-person in Paris where our company is based Participate in your first POC and customer technical workshop. Collaborate with our AE to close your first deal. Provide feedback to the product team on deployment or integration pain points. In the first year You’ll lead multiple successful POCs and customer technical validations. You’ll help close six- and seven-figure enterprise deals. You’ll have a network of partner engineers who trust and collaborate with you. You’ll be seen internally as the go-to voice for technical excellence in the U.S. market. Required Experience 5+ years in solutions engineering, pre-sales, or technical consulting for enterprise software or infrastructure. Proven success leading Proofs of Concept (POCs) and technical validations in complex, large-scale environments. Deep expertise in storage, backup, and data-management architectures across file, block, and object systems. Strong familiarity with Linux, Windows, APIs, and hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Bonus points if you have: Experience with HPC, Media & Entertainment, Life Sciences, or Research data environments. Background working with system integrators, OEMs, or channel partners. Familiarity with tools like Rsync, Robocopy, object gateways, and performance tuning in large-scale file systems.
