Position Summary The Joint-Use Project Manager leads and coordinates Engineering and Operations activities supporting the Joint-Use Program. This position is responsible for managing project workflows, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, and driving timely execution of permitting, design, and construction deliverables. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Candidates located in or around the Greater San Antonio, TX area is preferred. Duties and Responsibilities • Manage multiple joint-use projects simultaneously, tracking milestones, deliverables, and budgets from initiation through completion. • Ensure the joint-use program complies with all applicable codes, policies, and procedures. • Create and maintain comprehensive program records, including inspections, permitting, billing, code compliance verification, and joint-pole attachment agreements. • Maintain and develop strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners to foster positive cooperation and collaboration. • Review pole attachment requests with the Engineering team for approval and facilitate next steps for plan execution. • Communicate and coordinate with Engineering and Operations to identify joint-use notifications and field requirements. • Maintain and update databases and client interface modules by accurately recording and managing technical data. • Provide outstanding customer service by responding to inquiries with timely and accurate information. • Prepare and present project status reports, updates, and metrics to leadership as required. • Complete special projects and other duties assigned to meet department and organizational goals. • Contribute to a successful and productive work environment through professional, respectful communication and collaboration. Qualifications and Skills • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), utility design and construction standards, and administrative rules applicable to joint-use facilities. • Familiarity with third-party make-ready requests and the Joint-Pole Application (JPA) process required. • Knowledge of the National Joint Utilities Notification System (NJUNS) and Joint Facility Notification (JFN) process preferred. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required AutoCAD experience a plus. • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective coordination with internal teams, clients, vendors, and contractors. • Strong problem-solving, research, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment. • High attention to detail in organization, planning, workflow, and project prioritization to ensure accurate and efficient completion of tasks. • Ethical, self-motivated individual capable of working independently with very minimal direction, as well as collaboratively in a team environment. • Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information. Education and Experience • AA degree in Engineering or a related field preferred. • Requires High school diploma or equivalent. A combination of education and applicable work experience may be acceptable. • Minimum two (2) years of combined experience in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a Utility Operations environment. • Valid driver’s license preferred for candidates in or near San Antonio, TX. Physical Requirements • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while using a computer or other technology devices to analyze, review, and present information. • Frequent use of hands to handle documents, office supplies, and business materials. • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to client sites or field locations (typically within Texas or surrounding regions).
