Position Summary The Strategic Communications Specialist provides high-quality communications and operational support to the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO), supporting internal and external stakeholder engagement, executive communications, and enterprise-level messaging. This role directly supports the Commanders Action Group (CAG) and Corporate Operations by developing clear, accurate, and timely communications products for senior leadership, Congress, DoD stakeholders, and the public. Key Responsibilities Develop and prepare executive-level communications materials, including: Briefings Reports Congressional responses Speechwriting and talking points Support external stakeholder communications, including: Congress DoD leadership Media and public-facing messaging Assist with internal communications and workflow management, including: Taskers via ETMS2 Executive correspondence routing and tracking Perform quality control reviews of documents to ensure: Accuracy Proper formatting Compliance with DoD standards Clear and consistent messaging Support digital communications platforms, including: Intranet updates Public websites (e.g., jsf.mil) Social media content (as approved) Assist in developing Requests for Information (RFIs) and enterprise-wide messaging Coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure messaging accuracy and consistency Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Business, or related discipline 5+ years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or related field Experience supporting DoD, federal agencies, or government programs Strong writing, editing, and briefing development skills Experience with executive-level communications and document preparation Active Secret clearance Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with: DoD communication processes OSD and Military Department structures Experience with: Congressional communications ETMS2 or similar task management systems Knowledge of F-35 program or major defense acquisition programs Experience supporting senior leadership (SES/Flag Officer level) Benefits We Have to Offer: Health, Dental, and Vision Disability & Life Insurance 401K Retirement Plan PTO and 11 federal holidays Tuition Assistance Competitive salary based on experience and technical qualifications Travel Required: Occasional Location Crystal City, Virginia Employment Type Contractor Minimum Experience Mid-level Compensation Based on qualifications and technical skills
