Manage and analyze DoD budgets and financial reports to support government defense programs. | Bachelor's degree in finance or related field, 1-5 years experience, proficiency in Excel, and active Secret Clearance required. | Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Financial Analyst (Secret Clearance) to support budget planning, execution, and financial reporting for government defense programs. This role is onsite at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, MD. Responsibilities for the Financial Analyst include: · Manage and analyze DoD budgets using financial systems and tools, including tracking obligations, expenditures, and travel-related costs. · Support the development and execution of annual, multi-year, and expiring budgets in accordance with DoD policies. · Identify and resolve budget discrepancies, funding issues, and programmatic concerns. · Prepare and review financial reports for regular reporting cycles and monitor data in the Defense Travel System (DTS). · Analyze spend plans prior to funding execution and ensure accuracy of financial documentation. · Create and track financial documents such as MIPRs and PWDs. · Monitor appropriations, allocations, and forecasts for current and future funding. · Provide financial analysis during Program Management Reviews (PMRs), financial reviews, and data calls. · Conduct financial research and special assignments to support budget accuracy and completeness. · Evaluate short- and long-term financial plans and goals for strategic implementation. Qualifications for the Financial Analyst include: · Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar (preferred) · 1–5+ years of experience in financial or budget analysis · Proficiency in Excel required, Power BI reporting experience is a plus · Familiarity with DoD financial systems such as GFEBS, LMP, WAWF, EDA, DTS is preferred · Ability to identify and correct financial data discrepancies · MUST possess an ACTIVE Secret Clearance with the United States government Compensation for the Financial Analyst includes: · Salary range: approximately $35.00 - $45.00 hourly, commensurate with experience · Comprehensive Benefits: Cigna Medical/Dental/Vision, ADP 401k, STD, LTD, Paid sick leave This job opens for applications on 10/20/2025.
