Compensation$125K - 400K a year

Manage employment litigation cases independently, draft pleadings, take depositions, argue motions, negotiate settlements, and try cases. | Licensed in Minnesota with 3+ years of litigation experience, strong legal skills, and remote work capability. | Wanta Thome is Hiring: Remote Litigation Attorney (Employment Law – Plaintiff Side) Compensation: $125,000 – $400,000+ (performance-based with $90K first-year draw) We're hiring litigation attorneys to join our team remotely. If you're a strong litigator who wants to focus on winning employment cases — without chasing clients, managing intake, or dealing with office politics — keep reading. The Role By the time a case reaches you, our Intake and Pre-Litigation teams have already evaluated it, developed the facts, and positioned it for litigation. Your job is to get results — drafting pleadings, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, negotiating settlements, and trying cases when that's what it takes. You'll be supported by dedicated paralegal and case manager resources within a team that runs on structure, not guesswork. What Success Looks Like You can independently manage discovery, dispositive motion practice, and depositions. Your writing is clean and persuasive. You consistently move cases forward and don't allow files to stagnate. You can credibly value cases and negotiate from evidence. Compensation This is a W-2 position with performance-based compensation tied to the fees you collect on matters you manage. First-year draw: $7,500/month ($90K annualized) for six months, recoverable against future earnings, so you're supported while your cases develop. Fee share: Starts at 12.5% of collected fees and increases with production — up to 17.5% at the highest tier. What that means in practice: An attorney generating $1M in fees earns $125K. At $2M, you're earning $275K. At $3M+, you're north of $400K. There is no cap. You don't need to bring a book of business. We deliver litigation-ready cases to you. Benefits Health & Dental insurance 401(k) with employer contribution Malpractice coverage Minnesota bar dues and CLE reimbursement What We're Looking For Active Minnesota attorney license (required — you may live anywhere in the U.S., but must be licensed in Minnesota; expect occasional travel for depositions, mediations, and court appearances) 3+ years of litigation experience, ideally in employment law or a closely related practice area Strong legal writing and analytical skills Self-motivated and organized — remote work requires it Comfort with legal technology and cloud-based workflows A genuine commitment to representing employees What We Offer Fully remote — work from anywhere in the U.S. A case pipeline you don't have to build yourself Paralegal and case manager support — you lead the litigation, we staff the team around you Uncapped, performance-based compensation backed by real infrastructure A plaintiff-side practice with purpose: every case is about standing up for workers A firm that runs on systems, not chaos (we operate on EOS and invest heavily in process and technology) This role isn't for everyone. It's for the litigator who knows they're good, wants to be compensated accordingly, and doesn't need someone looking over their shoulder to get it done. If that's you, we want to talk. How to Apply Send your resume and a cover letter. In your letter, tell us about the most meaningful case you've handled and the outcome.

Compensation$120K - 200K a year

Lead and manage litigation cases, delegate tasks effectively, and develop case strategies to maximize client outcomes. | Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, licensed in Minnesota or Illinois, with 1-3 years of litigation experience, strong courtroom and negotiation skills, and the ability to lead teams and manage cases efficiently. | A lot of litigators work with the same basic setup everyone else has. That's not how we do it at Wanta Thome. We give our Trial Attorneys custom AI help for drafting, straightforward EOS processes, and team pods that build on your natural sense for litigation. This setup lets you push cases forward quicker and get better results for clients, and we'll bring you up to speed on employment law details using our tested methods. Your Role: Lead Cases with Smart Strategy and Support We're not just looking to fill a position. We're building a strong team where you take charge of case strategy and results in our plaintiff-side contingency work. You'll work with our in-house developers on tools and systems that improve your practice. We use HubSpot for managing clients, Trainual for handling processes, and Microsoft 365 for smooth daily work. In our pods, you're the main advocate, making sure everything lines up with our goal: get the most money back for workers hit by discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. You'll move each case to its next key step. Our setup is hybrid (Minneapolis, Chicago, or remote), with regular full-time hours and some weekends when needed. We back it with EOS tools like Rocks and Scorecards to track what's working. We'll teach you employment law, so you can stick to your strength: sharp litigation that gets results. What We Require: Strong Litigation Skills and Delegation We need you to be good at handing off work to paralegals and case managers, and giving them clear directions, timelines, and limits for everyday tasks while you focus on fresh analysis and your gut feel for strategy. You have to buy into our set processes, like building and updating case plans and following our standard approach. Help out on improving tools, and show real drive in court appearances, trials, depositions, mediations, and appeals. Be the go-to advisor for clients with steady updates; run negotiations to get the best value; and follow through with energy, straight talk, and reliability. Requirements include: Juris Doctorate from an accredited school. Licensed to practice law in Minnesota or Illinois. Preferably 2+ years in litigation (we'll consider 1-3 years if you have solid negotiation and writing skills)—your overall litigation sense matters most, since we can teach employment law through our systems. Core competencies: Strong legal planning and courtroom work. Convincing writing and speaking. Building ties with clients and showing understanding. Clear delegation and leading teams. Focus on quick action and real results. Solid ethics and taking responsibility. You won't handle basic document work, scheduling, or first client contacts; oversee every detail yourself; ignore issues until they grow; or allow cases to sit without progress. Rewards: Good Pay Tied to Results and Real Growth Your base pay will match your background, with added incentives based on case wins and team success. This setup pays off when you push for strong settlements, keep client satisfaction at 85+ NPS, bring in solid fees per case, stick to timelines, maintain full records, and hit good marks on delegation feedback. On top of that, our unique tools and pod backup speed up case closures, letting you take on more work efficiently. That means better pay for you, chances to advance, and the feeling of managing your own cases inside our firm. Our Culture: Push for Better Without Settling We look for people who always aim to improve by learning from mistakes to keep moving forward with steady quality; getting good at passing work to others so teams run smooth without close watch; and finding ways to tweak processes that fit our main values: Teamwork (working together without big egos to succeed as a group), Impactful Agility (making smart calls to get past blocks), Relentless Excellence (owning what happens), Results-Driven (zeroing in on steps that help clients and build the firm), and Radical Candor (giving honest input to help everyone get better). This weeds out those who are fine with the usual way: If systems for stronger outcomes and using your litigation sense in a fresh area don't get you going, we're not a match. But if you grasp strategic litigation, seek control over results, and can lead while picking things up fast, you'll fit right in.
