Job Description As aMedical Assistant, you willbe responsible forproviding patient support and communication andfacilitatingan exceptional patient experience to build and reinforce satisfaction, trust, and drive organizational loyalty. Accountable for welcoming and preparing the patient for their appointment, the Medical Assistant informs patients of relevant andrequiredinformation for their visit and provides clear communication around the services they are scheduled to receive. How You Will Get Things Done: • Performs point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered orindicated, suture/staple removal, dressing changes, and other patient care activities • Collects and documents vital signs, histories, and screenings • Authorizes prescription refills as directed • Prepares patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations • Performs phlebotomy and correctly processes specimens • Cleans andmaintainstreatment rooms and equipment • Other duties as assigned How You Will Build Trust: • Demonstrateskindness and compassion in all patient interactions • Performs quality controls and equipment checks. • Participatein brand marketing, rotating throughout the vestibule, with a focus on engaging and increasing patient volume. How You Will Innovate: • Prepares and administers PO, IM, and ID medications as directed by the Provider,utilizingthe "Rights of Vaccine or Medication Administration" • Provides instruction to the patientregardingmedications and diet Experience to Drive Change: • Certified Medical Assistant or eligible within90 daysof hire • 1 year of experience preferred • Phlebotomy experiencerequired • Current BLS certification for healthcare providers preferred;requiredwithin90 daysof employment • High School Diploma/Equivalencyrequired • Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgentcareor ER preferred About Our CommitmentTotal Rewards at VillageMD Our team members are essential to our mission to reshape healthcare through the power of connection.
