The Principal Pricing Analyst will develop Cost and Price Volumes and prepare compliant pricing proposals for U.S. Government and DoD efforts. This role includes leading the development of pricing strategies and collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance with regulations. | Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years or an Associate's Degree with 8+ years of relevant Defense Contracting pricing experience. Experience should focus on strategic pricing and proposal development for government contracts. | Valiant seeks an experienced Principal Pricing Analyst, to join our team supporting U.S. Government and DoD proposal efforts. This position, supervised by the Director of Pricing, involves developing Cost and Price Volumes, preparing fully compliant pricing proposals, and supporting the Contracts team with any modifications in accordance with our Cost Estimating System Manual (CESM) and FAR/DFARS requirements. This role is focused on proposal pricing and must have relevant Defense Contracting pricing experience—not financial planning or budgeting—and requires direct experience with federal RFPs, indirect rate applications, and cost model development. The Principal Pricing Analyst is a key contributor within our six-member pricing team. *This position is 100% Remote - preferrable in the Eastern or Central Time Zone; however, In-office and/or Hybrid employment is available if desired (Herndon, VA or Fayetteville, NC offices only). Responsibilities & Duties: * Contribute to competitive analysis exercises utilizing a variety of methods. * Support early stage capture planning. * Be an active participant in black hat reviews, win strategy solution sessions, etc. * Assist Business Development on the development of complex pricing strategies for high priority efforts. * Lead in the overall development and coordination of the entire Cost/Price volume in order to ensure that all requirements set forth in the solicitation are completed in an accurate and compliant manner. * Lead in the development of compliant and accurate Cost/Price files for a variety of contract types from scratch, using Microsoft Excel, or templates in Microsoft Excel. * Lead in the development of the Cost/Price narrative to ensure compliance with the requirements set forth in the solicitation. * Prepare Cost/Price Proposals using a variety of Excel based Cost/Price templates. * Coordinate with Business Development on the development of the overall proposal schedule. * Coordinate with other functional departments to obtain the necessary data utilized to develop compliant and competitive Cost/Price proposals. * Collaborate and communicate effectively with other functional departments to ensure each objective is completed in a timely manner. * Assist in the review and interpretation of complex solicitation requirements. * Ensure all submitted Cost/Price proposals are developed in accordance with the policies, processes and procedures established in Valiant's Cost Estimating System Manual (CESM) and are compliant with FAR, DFAR and CAS regulations. * Perform internal "Peer Reviews" to ensure that all Cost/Price proposals are in compliance with the solicitation, Valiant's CESM and all regulations set forth by the FAR, DFAR and CAS. * Coordinate with Business Development on setting up final Cost/Price reviews with Executive Leadership. * Participate and/or lead pricing reviews with Executive Leadership. * Collaborate with Executive Leadership and Business Development to identify and quantify the risks, opportunities, financial implications and pricing strategies for each bid. * Work with Executive Leadership to identify and implement pricing strategies that increase our PWIN. * Ensure that all Cost/Price Volumes and associated supporting documentation are properly documented and stored in the Valiant Pricing Drive. * Lead and/or assist in the preparation, production and submittal of each Cost/Price Volume as required. * Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of relevant Defense Contracting pricing experience or Associate's Degree and 8+ years of relevant Defense Contracting pricing experience using Microsoft Excel. Experience must relate to supporting strategic pricing and developing proposals for government contracts, with an emphasis on data-driven recommendations. UWDC, under the direction of Commander, Submarine Forces (COMSUBFOR), leads undersea superiority and enables the combat lethality and desired effects generated from, and within, the Undersea Domain. Responsibilities And Duties • Conduct analytical studies of doctrine, policies, and issues which have a major impact on national deterrence policy in development/improvement of long-range plans such as mobilizations and deployments, and other similar operations or contingency plans. • Provide advice and conduct analysis with respect to maritime USW policy and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) supporting Navy and Joint USW programs and operational and tactical employment of delivery systems. • Provide subject matter expertise and advice to UWDC and the Submarine Force. • Recommend improvements in submarine equipment, operations, sensing, operator and crew readiness training, tactics evolution, and data collection. • Liaise between warfighting and technical communities. • Work full-time at UWDC San Diego CA. • Travel approximately 5-10 occasions per year to CONUS, OCONUS, and Navy platform locations. • Other duties as assigned. Able to prepare and submit written documents supporting analysis with recommendations for courses of action. Ability to review, analyze, and compile a variety of data to produce reports and briefings internally and external to the command. • Knowledge and ability to work independently and manage several projects simultaneously. Ability to communicate effectively with Navy Senior Leadership. • Knowledge of government security requirements for classified data, including proper marking and protection for classified data. • High skill and tact in oral and written communications, including preparing and briefing technical material to large and/or senior audiences. Ability to record notes and transcribe meeting minutes into action items. • Ability to obtain and maintain a passport and driver’s license. • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
