Sr Security Engineer

Configure and manage security technologies and investigate incidents to improve organizational security posture. | Bachelor's degree with 4+ years cybersecurity experience and proficiency in enterprise security tools and MITRE ATT&CK. | Description PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Configure and manage core security technologies including SIEM, EDR, DLP, CASB, IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability management systems, and email security gateways. Assist in the development, tuning, and implementation of detection logic for security alerts. Provide recommendations to management to enhance the organization’s overall security posture. Audit and adjust DLP policies to proactively identify and prevent leaks of sensitive information/PII. Troubleshoot and investigate security related incidents which may require periodic, on-call, after hour support, including weekends and holidays. Maintain vulnerability management/scanning systems to aid in risk assessments and collaborate with appropriate departments to ensure timely remediation of vulnerabilities. Periodically assist with the gathering of artifacts required for SOC, HIPAA, and ISO27001 audits. Demonstrate and apply knowledge of: MITRE ATT&CK framework tactics and techniques. Current security risks, threats, trends, and vulnerabilities. Various operating systems including Windows, Linux, Unix. TCP/IP Protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications. Cloud/Web application architecture and operations. Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams ingrain security into new processes and technology deployments. Perform periodic audits of network security tools including firewalls and IDS/IPS to identify potential improvements. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Strong attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Bachelors Degree with preference in Engineering, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity (or equivalent demonstrated experience and knowledge) A minimum of 4 years’ professional work experience in an IT and/or Cybersecurity work environment. 3-5 years experience with enterprise-grade security technologies including SIEM, EDR, DLP, CASB, IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability management systems, and email security gateways. Masters Degree/MBA preferred. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred. Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) preferred. Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) preferred. Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) preferred. Security Operations Certified (GSOC) preferred. Cyber Security Analyst + (CYSA+ preferred.
