Business Development Analyst

Assist in developing proposals, analyze industry trends, and support client retention and partnership management. | Bachelor's degree, 1-3 years in sales or business development, strong communication and analytical skills, familiarity with CRM and sales tools. | The Business Development Analyst assists in identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, building strong client and partner relationships, increasing client retention and driving revenue growth. This role is responsible for participating in the execution of strategic initiatives, developing proposals, and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve business development objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: • PROPOSALS • Partners with cross-functional teams to develop compelling RFP responses, proposals, presentations and demos that align with client objectives and support business retention and acquisition goals. • Coordinates with internal contributors and subject matter experts to ensure proposal content is complete, accurate and maximizes business opportunities. • Coordinates internal timelines and deliverables for RFP/proposal processes, tracking progress against deadlines and escalating issues to the Director as needed. • Supports post-RFP analysis by compiling data on wins/losses to help refine responses for improved close ratios and future success. • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of sales enablement tools such as case studies or client success stories to equip the broader team. • BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT • Assists with the analysis of industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform business development strategy and identify growth opportunities. • Conducts research into external environment factors including market, industry, competitors and customers to identify new opportunities and customer needs. • Performs competitor analysis toward obtaining increased market share. • Collaborates with Marketing, Sales, Product Assurance and Development and other internal stakeholders to support business development plans. • Utilizes CRM systems, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of performance metrics. • Provides actionable market intelligence updates to the Director, including summaries of industry events, competitor moves, or emerging client needs. • Stays current on Travel Incorporated products/services, corporate travel regulations, and best practices to provide informed, credible support during client interactions. • CLIENT RETENTION • Conducts analysis of existing client accounts to surface potential growth opportunities; documents findings and presents actionable insights to the Director of Business Development to inform revenue-expansion initiatives. • Assists with maintenance of at-risk focus clients, and participates in issue resolution and retention activities. Monitors key client health indicators and flags at-risk opportunities for potential intervention. • PARTNER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT • Supports partnership management as needed (e.g., preparing briefing materials or coordinating internal updates for the Cox account or BCD partnership) under the Director’s guidance, serving in a support capacity. • REPORTING & CRM MANAGEMENT • Prepares regular updates and reports to the Director of Business Development on the status of business opportunities, partnerships, and market intelligence. • Tracks key metrics and flags trends or issues requiring the Director’s attention. QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • EXPERIENCE: 1 - 3 years experience including sales, communications or business development in a B2B environment preferred, with specific travel industry experience a plus. • COMPUTER/TECHNICAL: Solid computer skills including Microsoft products, Google Business Suite, sales automation tools and presentation/data visualization tools. • COMMUNICATION: Exceptional written communication skills including the ability to interpret and analyze complex legal documents and prepare compelling and succinct business proposals. • ANALYSIS & PROBLEM-SOLVING: Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills including root cause analysis, evaluation of alternatives and implementation of solutions and related reporting. • ACCOUNTABILITY: Accountability for results in terms of own work as well as ensuring that stakeholders have contributed to efforts appropriately. • RAPPORT-BUILDING: Ability to build, maintain and produce value from customer and industry relationships. • ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS: In tune with external environments including industry, regulatory and legal factors that impact business operations; recognizes and responds to internal organizational structures, requirements and norms. • ADAPTABILITY: Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and growth-oriented organization demonstrating flexibility when presented with challenges and the ability to recover from failures. • ORGANIZATION: Superior organizational, planning and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities both personally and for the team. • DECISION MAKING SKILLS: Understands the complexities related to the decision-making process, particularly the impact upon the business and having the ability to analyze situations fully to reach decisions. • INFLUENCE: Ability to persuade, influence, negotiate and make formal presentations.
