We work with a network of foundations, family offices, civil society organizations and research institutes internationally. Our work is supported at the eight-figure level by a growing network of philanthropic donors, and our global team has deep expertise in food policy, strategy and philanthropy in key markets from Brazil and Southeast Asia to Europe and the United States. After an initial period of fiscal sponsorship, Tilt Collective is establishing as an independent, nonprofit initiative. Position Summary Building on a successful first two years of development and resource mobilization, the Development Operations Manager will support Tilt’s fundraising strategy by managing the systems, data, processes and coordination that advance donor engagement and investment. This role maintains operational excellence across development systems, reporting and analysis, and ensures close collaboration with the finance team. We are looking for someone with experience in philanthropy, who brings a proven track record of supporting efforts to secure major gifts from foundations and institutional funders, as well as high networth individuals and health-oriented foundations. This position works very closely with the Development Director to build and maintain positive relationships with Tilt’s donors. Key Responsibilities Development Operations Work with the Project Manager, Systems & Operations, to: Create, update, and maintain policies and procedures for the organizational CRM (HubSpot) and ensure all policies and procedures are followed by staff as they relate to tracking donors and prospects; and Ensure the Development Team, Leadership Team, and Program Directors are trained on the CRM and enter donor and prospect contact data in an accurate and timely manner. Develop customized reports for team members to ensure proper tracking of actions, opportunities, gifts, and donor stewardship Manage donor contact list for organizational communications Produce analysis of fundraising activity for the Leadership Team, Development Team, and Board of Advisors Oversee the weekly agenda for Development team meetings Develop and implement systems to ensure cross-team collaboration related to donor deliverables Development Finance In collaboration with the Development Director, create, manage, and implement the team budget, set deadlines, and ensure accountability against the budget Produce regular and ad-hoc reports for the Development Director, Finance Team, and Leadership team to ensure effective tracking and management of donations Generate high-level reports on fundraising progress Create and implement a projection setting and management process Track key milestones with donors including disbursement and reporting dates Collaborate with finance, legal, operations, and MEAL on matters related to the gift acceptance policy, gift agreements and reporting Pipeline Development Work with the Development Director to set strategy for pipeline development Manage and implement the discovery pipeline process for the team to ensure the ongoing identification and qualification of new major donors and prospects Conduct initial research on donors and prospects Create systems to track donor capacity, likelihood ratings, and background information Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, relationship management, or business development Proficiency in data management and analysis Prospect research skills, including ability to interpret 990s and calculate net worth and philanthropic capacity Experience in budgeting and budget management Proficient in using, training, and designing CRM systems Deep passion for and understanding of food systems and/or climate solutions Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex ideas for diverse audiences Self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment Salary & Compensation For candidates based in the United States, the salary band for this role is USD $80,000 – $110,000, depending on location and relevant experience. This range is provided in line with applicable US pay transparency requirements. For candidates based outside of the United States, salary details will be shared during the recruitment process. Compensation varies by country and, where relevant, by location within that country, and is determined based on local market rates. The US salary band is specific to US-based roles and does not dictate or benchmark compensation in other locations. It is not an FX conversion and should not be used to infer salary levels outside of the US.

We are looking for someone with experience in philanthropy, who brings a proven track record of supporting efforts to secure and maintain major gifts from foundations and institutional funders including leading global philanthropies, as well as high network individuals and health-oriented foundations. This position works very closely with the Development Director to build and maintain positive relationships with Tilt’s donors. Key Responsibilities Donor Communications Create donor communication strategies to ensure donors receive timely information regarding progress from our grants, Tilt events, and newsworthy outcomes Identify the types of communications needed to advance relationships with each prospective donor and work with the Development Project Manager to create them Track donor interactions to inform communication strategies tailored for each donor Input into the design of donor events include attendee lists, agendas, and post-event follow up Prospective and Current Donor Management Oversee the relationship with a portfolio of potential donors to ensure donors are cultivated through our pipeline process Field enquiries from prospective donors, with support from the Development Project Manager, to ensure timely and effective responses Maintain donor profiles, highlighting the issues and grant making areas most relevant to them Lead the strategy for stewarding relationships with current donors, including through communications, inputting into reporting, and donor meetings Support the design of donor convenings, such as webinars and in-person events, based on the profile of participating donors Work with the Leadership Team and Development Project Manager to manage bilateral communications from current donors, including fielding questions, following up on interests, and maintaining a successful relationship Operations & Strategy Maintain accurate records in our CRM system and generate regular reports Work closely with leadership to inform organisational fundraising strategy based on funder feedback Contribute to board meetings and materials related to development progress Support the creation of impact reports and donor-facing materials Who You Are Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, relationship management, or business development Proven track record of managing complex relationships with large-scale donors, especially institutional donors Deep passion for and understanding of food systems and/or climate solutions Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex ideas for diverse audiences Self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment Experience with CRM systems and donor databases Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in food and climate sectors Understanding of regranting models and grassroots funding approaches Experience working in or with start-up organizations Familiarity with equity-centered and trust-based philanthropic practices Salary & Compensation For candidates based in the United States, the salary band for this role is USD $80,000 – $110,000, depending on location and relevant experience.
