Provide technical support for flexographic and gravure printing, manage product implementation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure print quality and customer satisfaction. | Requires 5+ years of technical experience in printing, hands-on with flexographic/gravure presses, supporting water-based and solvent-based inks, and extensive travel. | We are hiring a Technical Service Manager with strong experience in flexographic and gravure printing, supporting water-based and solvent-based inks and coatings used in flexible packaging. This role is customer-facing and highly technical, requiring frequent travel to manufacturing and pressroom environments. The Technical Service Manager will lead press-side technical support, manage product implementation, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure optimal ink performance, print quality, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities • Provide technical service and support for wide web flexographic and gravure printing operations • Support customers using water-based inks, solvent-based inks, and coatings • Conduct on-site press troubleshooting, ink optimization, and print quality analysis • Lead and support press trials, ink evaluations, and new product introductions • Analyze print defects, color issues, and substrate compatibility • Work closely with sales, R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to deliver technical solutions • Develop technical service strategies that support customer retention and business growth • Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned customer accounts Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in a technical service, ink support, or pressroom role • Hands-on experience with wide web flexographic and/or gravure printing presses • Strong knowledge of water-based and solvent-based inks and coatings • Experience supporting flexible packaging applications • Understanding of ink/substrate interactions, drying systems, surface treatments, and pressroom processes • Proven ability to manage customer-facing technical projects independently • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70%) Preferred Skills & Experience • Experience with color management systems (X-Rite or similar) • Knowledge of color matching, color control, and print defect analysis • Familiarity with lamination, coating, and post-print converting processes • Understanding of VOC regulations, safety protocols, and environmental compliance • Strong communication skills for customer training and technical presentations Job Type: Full-time Benefits: • Paid time off Application Question(s): • What are your salary expectations & notice period? • Do you have Printing / INK / Water based Solvent work experience?
