The candidate will serve as the client-side Project Manager, overseeing the third-party vendor responsible for developing and delivering a new web-based application to replace an existing legacy platform. This individual will coordinate the vendor’s work with the client’s internal business and technical teams, manage project dependencies, and drive execution to meet strict timelines and key delivery milestones. The ideal candidate will have experience managing application releases, holding internal teams and external vendors accountable, identifying unrealistic timelines, and negotiating realistic delivery schedules. They must be comfortable managing complex projects, resolving roadblocks, and keeping all stakeholders aligned and on track to meet critical deadlines. Compensation: $140,000–$170,000 annually Contract: Initial 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension Responsibilities Own the project plan, schedule, risks, issues, and dependencies across internal teams and the external development vendor. Partner with the vendor's Project Manager and hold the vendor accountable to the statement of work, including scope, milestones, deliverables, and quality. Identify potential delays, unrealistic timelines, and delivery risks early; develop mitigation plans, negotiate realistic commitments, and escalate issues when needed. Manage scope and change control, evaluating the impact of proposed changes on project timelines, resources, and deliverables. Coordinate working sessions, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and demonstrations with the Product Owner, subject-matter experts, and vendor team. Coordinate internal stakeholder availability and secure timely decisions, requirements, and approvals to prevent project bottlenecks. Oversee enterprise system integrations, data migration, validation, and cutover planning in coordination with technical teams and external vendors. Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), including test planning, tester availability, defect resolution, and final sign-off. Plan deployment and go-live readiness, coordinating production environments, infrastructure dependencies, contingency plans, and transition timelines. Prepare and present project status updates to leadership, including progress, risks, schedule changes, and decisions requiring attention. Coordinate change management, documentation, and training to support adoption of the new platform. 8+ years of experience in application development, software implementation, or technical project management, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle. Proven experience managing enterprise application development, software implementations, and application releases from planning through deployment and go-live. Experience overseeing third-party vendors and coordinating internal business and technical teams to meet strict project timelines. Ability to identify unrealistic schedules, negotiate achievable deadlines, and proactively manage project risks, dependencies, and roadblocks. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, requirements gathering, and release management. Experience coordinating enterprise system integrations, APIs, data migration, testing, and production deployment. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills, with experience using project management tools such as Jira or Microsoft Project. Preferred Qualifications Experience replacing legacy applications with modern web-based platforms. Familiarity with single sign-on (SSO), role-based access controls, and enterprise application environments. PMP certification strongly preferred. This individual will lead complex software implementations for hospitals, health systems, cancer centers, and multi-site healthcare organizations. The role will oversee the full implementation lifecycle, from project initiation and customer discovery through system configuration, integration, testing, go-live, and post-implementation support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise healthcare software implementations, preferably involving oncology information systems, radiation oncology workflows, treatment planning systems, or other clinical applications used in cancer care. They will be comfortable coordinating cross-functional technical and clinical teams, managing executive stakeholders, and guiding customers through complex implementation milestones in regulated healthcare environments. This is a full-time position based in the United States. Regular domestic travel to customer sites is required to support project kickoffs, implementation milestones, go-live activities, and post-launch stabilization. Proven experience leading end-to-end healthcare software implementations across hospitals, health systems, or clinical environments. Experience managing complex, multi-site deployments involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Strong project management skills, including scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, change management, and issue resolution. Experience coordinating software configuration, system testing, integrations, deployment, and go-live activities. Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards and technologies, including HL7, FHIR, and APIs. Understanding of healthcare data privacy, security, and HIPAA requirements. Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and customer relationship management skills. Ability to manage competing priorities, lead escalations, and work effectively with executive stakeholders. Willingness to travel domestically to customer sites as required.
