Configure and manage Azure API Management services to establish a scalable API gateway and support API integrations. | Hands-on experience with Azure API Management, REST APIs, API security, and ability to work independently in a pilot environment. | API Management (APIM) Engineer – Azure We are seeking a hands-on API Management (APIM) Engineer to support the buildout of an Azure-based API gateway and management layer. This role will focus on standing up an initial pilot using Azure API Management (APIM) and helping establish a scalable foundation for future API integrations. This is a technical, implementation-focused role ideal for someone who has experience configuring and working within Azure API Management environments. Key Responsibilities • Set up and configure Azure API Management (APIM) services • Help establish the initial API gateway and management layer • Publish and manage APIs within the APIM environment • Configure policies, routing, and access controls • Support API security (authentication, authorization, rate limiting, etc.) • Collaborate with internal teams to connect backend services • Troubleshoot issues and support testing of APIs during the pilot phase • Document configurations and best practices for future rollout Requirements • Hands-on experience with Azure API Management (APIM) • Experience working with APIs (REST) and API lifecycle management • Familiarity with Azure services (e.g., Azure Functions, App Services, or similar) • Understanding of API security concepts (OAuth, JWT, etc.) • Strong problem-solving and communication skills • Ability to work independently in a pilot / build environment Nice to Have • Experience with CI/CD or Infrastructure as Code • Exposure to Azure networking and security configurations • Experience working in regulated environments (financial services a plus, not required) Additional Details • Initial 3 month contract with possibility of extension • Financial Services Experience is a plus • Must be a U.S. Citizen and reside in the United States About Us: SourceAbility provides best-in-class recruitment services primarily in the areas of Data & Analytics.
