Perform routine and complex hematology testing, operate laboratory automation systems, and ensure quality and accuracy of results. | Requires 3-5 years of hematology experience, technologist-level certification, and ability to work independently during night shifts. | Medical Technologist – Lab Technologist (Hematology) Specialty: Medical Lab Technician Location: Detroit, MI 48202 Job Type: Contract - 13 weeks Contract Details: • Duration: 13 Weeks (Likely to Extend | Possibility of FTE Conversion) • Shift: Night Shift (Midnights) • Permanent Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Hematology) • Hours: 40 hours/week (8 hrs/day, 5 days/week) Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Medical Technologist performs routine and complex laboratory testing on blood and other body fluids using manual methods and automated laboratory instrumentation. The role focuses primarily on Hematology, ensuring accuracy, quality control, and timely reporting of results. Key Responsibilities: • Perform routine and complex hematology testing and analysis • Operate and monitor laboratory automation systems • Conduct fluid cell counts and differentials • Review, validate, and document test results accurately • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards • Utilize laboratory information systems (LIS) effectively • Assist with troubleshooting instruments and procedures • Maintain a high level of accuracy while working independently Required Skills & Experience: • Minimum 3–5 years of experience (hematology experience preferred) • Strong technical proficiency in medical laboratory testing • Experience with fluid cell counts & differentials • Ability to work independently during night shifts • Experience working on automation lines Certifications: • Preferred: • ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, or equivalent technologist-level certification • Hematology Specialist Certification (Highly Preferred) Additional Requirements: • BLS certification (AHA only) • COVID-19 vaccination (medical/religious declination accepted) Pay: $1,950.00 - $2,200.00 per week Benefits: • Relocation assistance Experience: • Medical Technologist – Lab Technologist: 3 years (Required) License/Certification: • BLS Certification (Required) • Medical Lab Technologist license/ ASCP (Required) Work Location: In person
