(SES) Location: Earth City, MO  Job Type: Full-Time | Exempt   About Security Equipment Supply (SES) Security Equipment Supply (SES) is a second-generation, family-owned distributor of low-voltage electronics. Since 1982, we've grown to 16 locations across 11 states, delivering trusted solutions in access control, fire and life safety, surveillance, home entertainment, and more. We’re in a transformative phase—modernizing operations, investing in technology, and enhancing customer and employee experiences. SES is committed to growing talent from within and creating meaningful career paths across the organization. Most roles are hybrid, providing flexibility while driving impact. At SES, we don’t just work here — we care for what we’ve built and the people we work with.  Live the SES Way: Family • Respect • Celebration • Excellence • Integrity Work the SES Way: Curiosity • Fun-Loving Spirit • Commitment to Growth Are you the kind of person who sees problems before they appear, takes ownership without waiting to be asked, and thrives on getting things right the first time? Do you take your work seriously, move with intention, and bring a level of detail and follow-through that others simply can’t match? If so, you may be the Senior Supply Planner we’re looking for. About the Role This is a high-visibility, high-accountability position owning the end-to-end supply planning of finished goods across a complex, fast-moving CPG environment. We need someone who gets up to speed quickly, thinks ahead, and proactively drives solutions—not someone who waits for direction. You will be the central link between demand, inventory health, supplier performance, and operational readiness. This role requires a sharp mind, strong analytical capability, and a business-first approach to balancing cost, supply risk, and customer expectations. What You’ll Do * Lead supply planning from start to finish, ensuring product availability across all channels. * Create, manage, and adjust purchase and transfer orders with accuracy and urgency. * Build strong vendor relationships and confront performance issues professionally and promptly. * Anticipate risk—especially with long-lead items—and develop contingency plans before issues escalate. * Optimize inventory to prevent stockouts, minimize excess, and reduce obsolescence. * Analyze data trends, supply constraints, and forecast signals to improve planning accuracy. * Monitor and report KPIs, highlighting risks and driving corrective actions. * Own and evolve planning tools, dashboards, and processes to improve visibility and efficiency. * Lead or participate in cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives. * Travel occasionally to vendors for procurement and relationship-building. Who You Are Proactive & Forward-Thinking * Doesn’t wait to be told—sees what needs to be done and does it. * Brings ideas, not excuses; solutions, not problems. Serious About the Work * Professional, polite, and reliable—not the life of the party, but clear, steady, and effective. * Communicates with intention and follows through every time. Highly Analytical & Detail-Driven * Spots small discrepancies before they become big issues. * Builds accurate, actionable plans and models. Urgent & Accountable * Operates with a strong sense of ownership and urgency around goals and objectives. * Meets deadlines, commitments, and expectations consistently. A Strategic Thinker * Understands the “why” behind the work and connects decisions to business goals. * Thinks outside the box and challenges old processes respectfully and productively. Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field. * 5+ years in supply or production planning (CPG preferred). * Strong Excel proficiency (advanced functions expected). * Experience building dashboards, tools, and planning models. * ERP and inventory management system experience required. * APICS CPIM or CSCP preferred. Success Metrics * Inventory Turnover * Stockout Rate (target: ≤ 2%) * Purchase Order Cycle Time * PO Accuracy * Cost Savings Achieved * Forecast Accuracy * On-Time Delivery   Work Environment  This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and standard software suite(s), such as the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, and the Microsoft Suite of products.   Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
