What we’re looking for… ScienceLogic is seeking a Senior Engineer, Developer Platform to improve our developer platform and tools. This role will focus on the creation and maintenance of our modern developer platform, leveraging Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud computing to empower our developers to create cutting-edge and innovative software systems. You will be working with a team of experienced engineers in the platform engineering, DevSecOps, and cloud architecture world. This role requires a driven and curious individual, willing to learn new technologies and experiment with development teams in order to find the latest and greatest tools to integrate into our workflow, as a driving force behind the software factory here at ScienceLogic. What you’ll be doing… In this role, you will be developing tools and infrastructure for our development platform, including container platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and other analysis and engineering tools. · Develop our internal Kubernetes platform that fuels our developer workflows, including both hosting developer environments as well as our central tooling and systems · Coordinate with developer teams to understand requirements and workflows · Enforce best practices when it comes to container development, CI/CD pipelines, and general software engineering · Work with an experienced and collaborative team, contributing to team discussions around technology choice, implementation, and architecture Qualities you possess… You are a driven and curious engineer who loves to learn about the newest technologies and evaluate efficiencies in existing pipelines. You look at things with an objective and scientific lens to experiment and quantify value, rather than leaning on feelings or claims. · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or related fields with 3-5 years of relevant experience, or 5-8 years of relevant experience · Ability to operate independently on tasks and own feature delivery from end-to-end · Extensive experience with CI/CD platforms and developing pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) · Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and container orchestration in production environments, particularly deployed as infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred) · Experience working in public cloud platforms (AWS preferred) · Experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages (Python or Go preferred) · Experience collaborating with a team of varied specialties and external collaborators · Experience documenting best practices, architecture, and policies for consumption of both technical and non-technical roles · Knowledge of monitoring, observability, and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, etc.). · Understanding of DevSecOps principles, including secure build pipelines and compliance automation. About the Role We’re seeking a Senior AI Platform Integration Engineer to join the Skylar initiative — ScienceLogic’s next-generation AI platform. This role focuses on designing, building, and supporting scalable internal APIs and integration services that connect partner engineering systems to Skylar’s intelligent automation layer. The ideal candidate is a strong backend and integration engineer with experience building secure, enterprise-grade APIs and distributed services in complex environments. You’ll collaborate closely with platform, infrastructure, and data engineering teams to deliver reliable integration patterns, scalable authentication and authorization solutions, and high-quality developer experiences across the Skylar ecosystem. If you enjoy solving problems at the intersection of APIs, identity systems, distributed platforms, and AI-enabled applications, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a rapidly evolving platform. Key Responsibilities Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs and integration services that support Skylar’s AI and automation capabilities. Contribute to integration standards and best practices for how internal teams expose data and services to the AI platform, including authentication, versioning, schema contracts, and access control. Develop APIs with token-based authentication (JWT/OAuth 2.0) and endpoint-level authorization controls designed for both user-facing and automated workloads. Support the implementation and evolution of Skylar’s RBAC model, including role definitions, permission structures, and policy enforcement patterns across a multi-tenant platform. Assist with enterprise SSO integrations using SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC), including integration with identity providers such as Okta, Azure AD, or Ping Identity. Partner with ATLAS (OTEL Platform), SPACE (Core Platform & Infrastructure), and Data Platform teams to align on API contracts, data semantics, and integration requirements. Implement audit logging and observability practices for authenticated access, authorization events, and system activity across the integration layer. Contribute to identity-aware request routing and session context propagation through Skylar’s platform infrastructure. Design and maintain containerized integration services running on Kubernetes, including secure secret and configuration management practices. Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering documentation efforts. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices across the team. Required Experience 5+ years of backend or integration engineering experience in production environments. Strong experience developing production services using Python (FastAPI, Flask) and/or Go. Experience designing, building, and maintaining enterprise APIs and integration services. Experience implementing authentication and authorization systems, including RBAC models and multi-tenant access patterns.
