The Lakewood, Colorado office is seeking a Part-Time Senior Consultant with civil engineering expertise related to dams and hydraulic structures. The successful candidate will support various offices in the West and projects throughout the U.S., working with collaborative multi-disciplinary teams. Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Job Responsibilities • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and/or senior reviewer by providing civil engineering expertise and technical oversight for projects with varying size and complexity. • Collaborate with peers in offices across the U.S. and across various technical disciplines to achieve project goals. Other disciplines may include geotechnical, civil, structural, hydraulic, and mechanical engineers, and geologists, environmental scientists, and construction personnel. • Provide analysis/design guidance and review of design calculations, engineering analyses, and technical reports. • Mentor junior staff. • Assist in development of technical and quality initiatives. • Support the development of engineering proposals and qualification statements. Required Skills/Experience • Bachelor's or master’s Civil Engineering with at least 25 years of professional experience. • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) • Demonstrated expertise and experience related to facilities operations and maintenance, writing standard operating procedures and emergency action plans, water resource planning, coordination among a variety of stakeholders, design review, construction plan review and implementation, among others. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • A strong work ethic and the desire to perform professionally at a high level. • Ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Attention to detail and well-organized. Preferred Qualifications/Skills • Experience/proficiency with common computer-aided analysis and modeling programs applicable to civil engineering dam and water resource projects. Other Requirements • Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check. • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening. The compensation range for this position is between $90/hour to $110/hour. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. This position will help support our growing geophysical group that focuses on near-subsurface geophysical investigations to support civil engineering and environmental applications. This position will consist of all phases of services related to geophysical projects and tasks: business development, scope and proposal development, technical work either onsite or by guiding other staff, data analysis, report writing, invoicing, and project management. In addition, this position includes working closely with the currently east coast-based geophysics group for training, resource sharing, mentoring. This role may also consist of occasionally supporting other groups with project management or related services. Our geophysical team supports interesting and challenging projects, mostly across the United States, and occasionally in other countries. Job Responsibilities • Preparation of geophysical scopes, proposals, deliverables and reports for a variety of applications, projects, and clients. • Manage, execute, and provide geophysical technical support, in a team setting, and on a variety of challenging geophysical projects. • Communicate with clients, establish goals and objectives for projects, and schedule and coordinate resources, to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the quality expectations of the client. • Perform geophysical field work; train and manage field personnel.
