Develop and deliver cloud-native software solutions using modern programming languages and DevSecOps practices. | Experience with modern programming languages, REST APIs, containerized applications, AWS cloud services, and Agile DevOps environments. | Title: Software Engineer Location: Remote Clearance: US Citizen (Secret Eligible) About this role: Rackner is looking for a Software Engineer to develop and deliver first class solutions within a DevSecOps environment using latest cloud-native technologies to architect and implement containerized applications, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes platforms using best practices and leading technologies with a Secret clearance or has eligibility to obtain one. We are seeking professionals with: • S. in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) and at least 1 year professional experience working as part of an Agile team using DevOps practices and modern programming languages and frameworks to develop and engineer data-related services and applications to load platforms. • Modern programming languages and frameworks including Python (FastAPI), Flask, JavaScript (Node.js, Express, Vue, Svelte, React), and Java (Spring Boot) • Develop data focused solutions to include experience designing and implementing OpenAPI compliant data schemas and REST APIs, implementing data persistence and query logic using Object Relational Mapping (ORM) libraries and SQL, and implementing data validation business rules. • Evolve AWS cloud solutions with a specific focus on data services such as S3, RDS, and EMR. • Mature containerized applications using Docker and/or OCI compliant containers • Use Test Driven Development practices and CI/CD pipelines to shift security left and continuously develop and deliver software in small batches satisfying security, quality, and test compliance requirements. • Linux systems and command line tools Nice to have: • S. in Computer Science or related field • Kubernetes (Rancher RKE2, AWS EKS) and microservice architectures • Data engineering and big data technologies such as Apache Airflow, Trino, and AWS EMR • dbt Core • Grafana • Lakehouse architectures • Pipeline design • Workflow orchestration • Data ingestion pipelines • ELT transformations • Spark • Observability/monitoring • Window functions / advanced SQL analytics • INST task management framework and security accreditation process and tasks What will make you successful: • As part of an Agile team, use DevSecOps best practices to rapidly develop and deliver first class solutions for a DoD customer. • Develop software using leading languages and frameworks including Python and FastAPI, AWS, and Rancher Kubernetes. What You'll Own: • Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, multi-classification cloud architectures. • Define and execute Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) strategies using Crossplane, Terraform, and other automation tools. • Build and maintain DevSecOps pipelines for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment. • Optimize core networking, load balancing, DNS, and platform services for mission-critical cloud applications. • Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline RMF and cyber authorization processes. • Mentor and guide engineers, sharing your SME-level expertise in cloud engineering, Crossplane, automation, and secure software development. What You Bring to the Team: • 10+ years; software engineering or DevSecOps experience. • Proficiency in multiple languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, Bash, C/C++, C#, YAML, JSON, XML, or similar. • IAT Level II baseline and Security+ (or equivalent) certification • Hands-on experience with Linux systems, CLI tools, networking, and cloud platforms. • Proven experience with Crossplane to deploy and manage multi-cloud infrastructure. • Experience with Terraform, Vault/Secrets Manager, PaaS technologies, and CI/CD pipelines. • AWS Certification (to be completed within 30 days of start).
