What You Will Contribute To OHM Advisors As a construction technician at OHM Advisors, you will bring your technical expertise to the forefront of building and maintaining safe, high-quality structures. You will collaborate closely with project managers to plan, schedule, coordinate construction projects, along with tracking project progress, identifying potential issues, and implementing solutions on infrastructure projects. Your Responsibilities • Perform daily field inspections of construction work and prepare daily work reports. • Interpret construction drawings and specifications on construction projects. • Determine if encountered field conditions require a change to the construction contract. • Implement RFIs on submittals and shop drawings into real-world construction projects. • Perform a wide variety or monitor materials testing, including concrete, aggregates, and density testing both in the field and lab settings. • Track and record as-built information for incorporation into project record drawings. • Communicate with the project team throughout the process. • Demonstrate strong project organization skills. Requirements • 5 years' experience with local agency programs and DOT inspection experience. • Capable of working as a team member with multiple disciplines. • Certified Erosion, Sediment, and Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI) is a plus. • Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) is a plus. What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors As a Senior Civil Site Project Manager in our Livonia office, you'll be at the forefront of exciting mixed-use and public-private partnership projects that directly impact the growth and development of our local community. You'll leverage your expertise to lead and mentor a talented team of engineers, planners, and design technicians, fostering innovation and delivering exceptional results. Your Responsibilities Project Leadership & Delivery: Lead and manage the complete lifecycle of multiple civil site development projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget completion while exceeding client expectations. Drive the design and delivery of innovative civil site solutions, expertly utilizing analysis tools and software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Hydraflow, and AutoTurn. Develop and meticulously manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and work plans, maintaining seamless coordination with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, and local jurisdictions. Actively support the bidding and award process, efficiently address RFIs during construction, conduct site visits to ensure quality, and participate in construction progress meetings. Implement rigorous quality control measures for design plans, project budgets, construction documents, and all client deliverables. Communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely through professional presentations to both internal teams and clients. Engage in minimal local travel to project sites and client offices within the Livonia area, with occasional travel to regional offices for collaboration. Team Development & Collaboration: Provide clear direction and oversight to project production staff in the creation of comprehensive site design plans, including geometric layout, utility services, grading, drainage, stormwater and retention design, erosion control, and construction details. Supervise and mentor a team of talented engineers across multiple projects, providing effective resource management and thorough technical reviews to ensure excellence. Foster the professional growth of junior engineers through dedicated mentorship, training, and constructive oversight. Collaborate strategically with our Marketing & Business Development team to contribute technical expertise to the development of compelling marketing materials, winning proposals, and impactful presentations. Requirements Education, Experience & Licensure: Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in Site Civil Engineering or Municipal Engineering, demonstrating a strong track record of project success. Proven design expertise in a range of site development areas, including grading, water mainline, sanitary sewer, roadway systems, storm sewer systems, green infrastructure, and stormwater management. Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with the local communities and regulatory environment is highly valued. Professional Engineering (PE) License in the State of Michigan is required. Additional Skills & Qualities: Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with external partners. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently. Demonstrated ability to effectively self-manage workload and maintain a high level of organization.
