We currently have an urgent opening for a Senior Director / Director, Office of the CIO for an onsite role in Troy, Michigan Position Details: Title: Senior Director / Director, Office of the CIO Location: Troy, Michigan Duration: Long Term Contract Pay Rate: $Negotiable Reports to: Chief Information Officer Direct reports: PMO IT Director, IT Finance team (analyst and administrator), IT Procurement (to be hired) Position Summary The Senior Director / Director of the Office of the CIO leads the function that makes IT measurable, predictable, and accountable. This is a Chief of Staff-flavored leadership role responsible for the Project Management Office (PMO), IT financial management, IT procurement, IT governance, and the operating cadence that gives business leaders trust in what IT says it will deliver and lets Finance trust how IT spends. This is a newly established function at Champion and the role offers the opportunity to shape it from the ground up. Key Responsibilities • Own the IT operating cadence — executive reporting, dashboards, performance metrics, board-ready materials. • Lead the PMO and IT portfolio management — ensure projects deliver on scope, time, and cost commitments. • Lead IT financial management — budget planning, forecasting, accruals, capital expenditure management, partnership with Corporate Finance. • Own IT procurement and vendor contract management — negotiate favorable terms, manage strategic vendor contracts, ensure governance over IT spend. • Establish and maintain IT governance — policies, standards, decision rights, escalation paths. • Coordinate IT workforce planning and HR partnership across the IT organization. • Support the CIO on strategy work, executive engagement, and external communications. • Manage audit and SOX evidence requests for the IT organization, partnering with Security & Controls. • Build and develop the OCIO team — hiring, performance management, capability development. • Contribute to IT Leadership Team decisions on strategy, resource allocation, and operating priorities. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or related field. • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in IT operations leadership, PMO leadership, IT financial management, or Chief of Staff roles. • Demonstrated experience standing up or transforming IT governance and operating cadence at scale. • Experience leading PMO functions for portfolios of $25M+ with multiple concurrent strategic initiatives. • Hands-on experience with IT financial planning, budgeting, accruals, and capital management. • Track record of working effectively across CIO, CFO, business unit leaders, and external auditors. • Experience operating in a public company environment. Preferred Qualifications • MBA strongly preferred. • Background combining management consulting and in-house IT operations leadership. • Experience with Technology Business Management (TBM) frameworks and IT chargeback. • Experience leading IT procurement and major vendor contract negotiations. • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program management certification. Skills and Competencies • Operational discipline — runs a clean, transparent, measurable function. • Financial fluency — comfortable with budget conversations at CFO level. • Influence without authority — works through other function leaders to get things done. • Communication — translates complex IT topics into clear executive narratives. • Process design — builds repeatable operating rhythms and governance frameworks. • Strategic thinking paired with execution rigor. Success Metrics • IT projects deliver on commitments — scope, time, cost — at standard rates. • IT budget tracked transparently with no surprises to Finance. • Vendor contracts current, with terms favorable to Champion and clear obligations. • Audit and SOX requests serviced quickly with accurate evidence. • IT operating metrics published on a defined cadence and trusted by the executive team. Architect and deliver scalable, high-performance front-end UI solutions with AI-driven features. | 5+ years React experience, Remix/Next.js knowledge, AI UI integration, cloud and CI/CD familiarity. | UI Architect Reston, VA or Philadelphia, PA (Remote with Travel) Full-time Must Have Technical/Functional Skills • Core UI & Front End Architecture • Strong experience architecting scalable, high performance UI solutions delivering exceptional customer experiences. • 5+ years of hands on React experience building enterprise scale applications. • 2+ years of experience with Remix or Next.js, including SSR, routing, and performance optimization. • Deep understanding of UI architecture principles, component design, state management, and modular front end patterns. • Proven track record designing and delivering large scale, consumer facing web applications. • Strong command of web fundamentals including HTML, CSS, accessibility, browser performance, and security best practices. • AI Driven & Intelligent UI Skills • Experience integrating or developing with LLMs and Generative AI services in front end or full stack environments. • Strong understanding of prompt engineering concepts and interaction design for AI powered interfaces. • Experience architecting AI inference aware UI systems, including latency sensitive rendering and streaming responses. • Ability to design intelligent UI flows, including conversational, adaptive, and personalized user journeys. • Familiarity with AI safety, governance, and responsible AI considerations in customer facing applications. • Experience developing AI powered front end systems, including copilots, assistants, and AI driven design systems. • Knowledge of AI based analytics and telemetry to track user behavior, performance, and AI effectiveness. • Cloud, Platform & Engineering Practices • Strong experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks. • Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud based UI architectures. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and automated quality gates. • Working knowledge of Node.js for front end platform enablement. • Experience with Sitecore or headless CMS platforms is preferred.
