Department OverviewDev Ops Intern Summer 2026 Job Description Motorola's Access Control Division's (previously OpenPath, now Avigilon Alta) mission is to improve your workday with smart office technology at your front door. We are looking for candidates who can help us build, scale and innovate as we develop our industry leading platform for access control and office automation. Strong analytical and software skills are a must in order to join our team, and we are particularly seeking candidates with experience and skills in multiple technologies, in order to contribute broadly to our team-centric approach to product development. Our Dev Ops/Infrastructure Reliability team addresses a wide range of engineering tasks including support, analysis and improvement of the fleet of devices and their supporting services. We are seeking a DevOps Software Intern to help us improve how performance metrics are gathered and evaluated for software updates across thousands of IoT devices. As part of this internship, you will help enhance existing tools written in Python, while also contributing to the development of new features in Python or Go to improve efficiency, scalability, and functionality. The project will involve: • Creating and extending tools for gathering key metrics • Designing and implementing API's for populating new data • Summarizing results • Ensuring tools operate smoothly at scale. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work with both Python and Go, while learning how to handle complex, large-scale data pipelines and IoT systems. Qualifications: • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. • Experience with Python programming (either through coursework or previous projects). • Familiarity with Go or interest in learning Go to extend existing Python-based tools. • Experience with databases, both relational and NoSQL. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. • Basic understanding of unit tests and familiarity with testing frameworks. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. • Basic understanding of APIs and web technologies (RESTful APIs are a plus). • Experience or familiarity with IoT devices and systems is a bonus. • Understanding of data structures and algorithms. • Excellent communication skills and a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Video Security & Access Control division of Motorola Solutions is growing rapidly; We are open to considering fully-remote candidates based anywhere in the US. Responsibilities include: • Tasks will include prospecting for new business to develop relationships with key decision-makers, understand and respond to customer needs, track and report on account activity. • Lead generation expertise to include the ability to identify and develop new business prospects from multiple sources including prospect lists, discovery and individual research. • Qualify all existing leads in Salesforce.com and all Avigilon lead databases and resources set forth by the Inside Sales Manager, North America that may be generated from sales, tradeshows, telesales, marketing, referrals, partners, website, consultants, and call campaigns. • Coordinate, promote and lead webinars in your assigned region as directed by the Inside Sales Manager. • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales objectives for your assigned territory. • Accept inbound and perform outbound telephone calls to identify sales opportunities. • Meet and exceed daily call & activity metrics. • Align with other members of the sales organization to support overall company revenue targets. Preferred Qualifications: • Six months to one year of experience within an inside sales organization. • Preferred experience with technology sales. • Preferred experience with video surveillance/security technology sales. • Preferred Salesforce.com CRM experience. • Preferred previous experience in a sales development role. Target Base Salary Range: $30,400 - $59,100 USD Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity.
