The team focuses on helping organizations navigate complex issues globally through innovative and effective solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented Media and Social Media Researcher to produce daily analytical reports on specific geopolitical themes. This role requires the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources, identify emerging trends, and deliver actionable intelligence through clear, concise written analysis. The ideal candidate combines strong research capabilities with some familiarity with international affairs and East Asian business and politics. Key responsibilities may include: • Produce daily monitoring reports on assigned geopolitical themes • Conduct open source intelligence (OSINT) research across traditional media, social media platforms, academic publications, and public data sources • Identify and track emerging narratives, key stakeholders, and significant developments relevant to client interests • Monitor and analyze social media narratives and viral trends • Synthesize complex information into clear, executive-ready briefings and reports • Utilize social listening platforms such as TalkWalker/Brandmention to track sentiment, reach, and engagement metrics • Collaborate with the Media Theory team to support broader strategic communications initiatives Qualifications • Exceptional written communication and analytical skills with ability to produce clear, concise reports under tight deadlines • Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (reading and comprehension) is a plus, but not mandatory • Understanding of international relations theory and contemporary geopolitical developments • Demonstrated research skills and attention to detail • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment • Strong organizational and time management capabilities • Work experience at a PR consultancy or other professional agency Position details Type: Contract position Location: Fully remote Hours: Flexible, with daily deliverables To apply, please submit your resume, a brief cover letter highlighting your relevant experience with media research.
