This role reports directly to the Director of Architecture and combines hands-on drafting/production responsibilities with project management leadership across a variety of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Key Responsibilities • Hands-on drafting and production of construction documents, wall sections, and details using Revit and AutoCAD. • Manage and contribute to diverse project types: Office, Retail, Multifamily, Single-Family, Hospitality, Industrial, and Mixed-Use. • Provide leadership in all phases of project delivery while mentoring junior staff. • Coordinate with consultants (structural, MEP, civil, and specialty) and integrate their drawings into the architectural set. • Apply commercial, construction and wood-frame construction knowledge to ensure technical accuracy. • Prepare and review project manuals, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and field observations. • Oversee permitting processes, AHJ coordination, and entitlement hearings. • Lead client presentations, planning commission, and city council meetings. • Research and recommend materials, finishes, and systems to support design decisions. • Must assist with drafting Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field. • Strong drafting skills with proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (required). • Expertise in wall assemblies, detailing, and construction methodologies. • Familiarity with both commercial and wood-frame construction. • Knowledge of IBC, IFC, ADA/TAS, and local AHJ permitting. • Experience with AIA Contracts, including G702 & G703 forms. • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. • Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Houston/Sugar Land area.
