The Project: The operator of a major international airport is considering a further update to expand the main terminal, reconfigure concourses and phase out legacy passenger transport systems. Shared with airline stakeholders earlier this year, the proposed programme is estimated at c.$22 billion, with completion targeted in the mid-2030s, forming part of a wider transformation to support significant long-term passenger growth. By comparison, the existing master plan approved in 2025 outlined c.$7 billion of phased capital investment, aligned to projections of up to 90 million annual passengers by the end of the century. You’ll Be Responsible For: • Leads the delivery of the Stakeholder Management team/s on the assigned commissions. • Supports the Hub PMO and Project Control Director with resourcing and recruitment for the assigned commission. • Accountable for the Stakeholder Management Service performance on assigned commissions. • Creates/designs effective Stakeholder Management Communications Service framework/strategy. • Manages and directs clients, consultants, contractors, project team on all Stakeholder Management Service matters. • Provides expert technical/functional advice and builds strong professional relationships with Client organisations. • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert on assigned projects/programmes/portfolios. • Leads and directs team in the administration of all related processes including managing change, risks, issues and reporting to achieve key objectives and the escalation of performance and management issues. • Ensures all activities/operations are carried out in line with Mace Control Centre, Client requirements and prevailing regulations and legislation. • Provides line management to more junior team members and other Project/Programme staff as required. • Utilises expertise to mentor and assist the personal and career development of team. • Innovates and aligns with industry best practice to ensure continued service excellence. • Manages a team of professional roles (& may include support roles), driving performance and results, whilst delivering performance management, technical development and coaching. You’ll need to have: • Extensive knowledge of functional best practices, processes, and current trends within major construction projects. • Ability to manage activities with high levels of uncertainty or ambiguity, providing effective consultancy to clients and key stakeholders. • Proven experience in establishing stakeholder management, communications, consents management, and interface management frameworks and strategies. • Expert knowledge of relevant methodologies, processes, tools, techniques, and software. • Strong understanding of construction projects, including dependencies and interfaces across the project lifecycle. • Advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills. • Ability to develop strong internal networks, collaborating with stakeholders to identify and analyse business risks. • Experience building and leading high-performing teams, including identifying, developing, and coaching talent. • Strong leadership and influencing capabilities across teams and stakeholders. • Ability to manage challenging behaviours and relationships while achieving positive outcomes. • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver successful results. • Minimum of 10 years’ experience (or equivalent) as a Stakeholder & Communications Services leader delivering project management services on major construction programmes or portfolios. Note: The estimated starting salary for this position is $150k. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications. The project: Mace is seeking a full time Project Controls Lead for Life Science and Industrial Manufacturing projects to work directly with our Clients on capital projects. Manages and/or leads the implementation and delivery of a range of PMO and Project Controls to support commissions. Leads and guides team members within the PMO and Planning Centre of Excellence and assigned Hub as required. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project. • Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost and schedule management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients. • Undertake the valuation of contractor’s monthly applications including measured works, preliminaries, materials on site, etc. • Assessment and evaluation of variations including the ability to negotiate and agree with contractor, including the preparation of full substantiating documentation. • Ensuring that post-contract cost variances, change control, cost checking and valuation processes are managed effectively. • Performance reporting including KPI, Risk and Resource analysis. • Review Monthly updates of spend and schedule data to a achieve KPIs. • Responsible for coordination and development of project controls related processes and procedures. • Work alongside the account lead to determine project controls resources required to support delivery. • Responsible for the management of direct Mace reports. You’ll also have: • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise. • Strong commercial and financial acumen. • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams. • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders. • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
