About the Role We’re seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Core Portal team, which owns the central platform powering how customers interact with Kodex. This is one of the most visible and impactful teams at the company — everything our customers do runs through the portal. You’ll manage and mentor a growing team of ~8 experienced engineers, partner closely with Product and Design, and set the technical and organizational direction for a critical surface of our business. From shaping architecture to scaling team processes, you’ll make decisions that influence not just the customer experience but how Kodex engineering operates at large. This is an ideal role for a hands-on, people-first leader who thrives in high-growth environments, loves building strong teams, and wants to drive meaningful impact in a space that matters. What You’ll Do Manage, mentor, and coach a team of engineers, supporting growth through feedback, reviews, and career development. Partner with Product to define roadmaps, set clear goals, and translate strategy into execution. Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and delivery processes that balance roadmap work, technical debt, and incident response. Drive architectural decisions and ensure the team builds scalable, reliable systems. Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture where engineers thrive and do their best work. Own team OKRs/KPIs, communicate progress and risks to leadership, and ensure alignment with company priorities. Support incident response and postmortems for the team’s systems. You Might Be a Fit If You… At least 4–5 years as a hands-on software engineer, and 3+ years managing engineering teams. Can mentor engineers and build strong, inclusive teams. Have led teams through growth and delivery in fast-paced environments. Are comfortable balancing technical trade-offs with product and business priorities. Have experience with on-call rotations, incident management, and building reliable systems. Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
