Analyze credit applications, assess creditworthiness, and collaborate with dealers to optimize loan processes. | Minimum 5 years in credit analysis, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong interpersonal skills. | Kawasaki Motors Retail Finance is seeking a dedicated and experienced Credit Analyst to join our team. This role is integral to the setup and success of our underwriting operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Underwriting Manager to establish and streamline underwriting processes and ensure efficient and effective operations. Key Responsibilities: • Analyze and render decisions on incoming credit applications for powersports loans, ensuring adherence to company guidelines and risk policies. • Assess borrower creditworthiness through credit reports, structure and other tools. • Collaborate with dealers to negotiate deal terms where necessary, working to maximize capture rate while maintaining credit quality. • Communicate credit decisions clearly and professionally to dealer partners and the sales team. • Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers to support business growth and promote loyalty. • Conduct timely follow-ups on approved applications. • Review and resolve funding exceptions in a timely and accurate manner. • Provide ongoing training to dealer partners on credit processes, funding requirements, and company policies. • Handle both incoming and outgoing calls. • Actively remind and educate dealers on value-added products such as KPP (Kawasaki Protection Plus) to enhance customer offerings and increase product penetration. • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in all interactions with internal teams and external partners. • Work closely with internal teams (sales, funding, customer service and credit). • Assist in developing underwriting procedures and training tools. • Collaborate with the Credit Manager to set up the business and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. • Utilize Microsoft Office and Loan Origination Systems (LOS) to process and manage loan applications. • All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • A minimum of 5 years of experience in credit analysis in powersports/motor vehicle lending. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • High school diploma, associate degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, or related field. • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills. • Proven ability to assess credit risk and make sound lending decisions. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and changing environment. • Strong analytical and decision-making skills. • Research and problem-solving capabilities. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Act as a resource for dealer and staff questions regarding the KMRF’s loan programs. • Ability to work on-site at our Foothill Ranch, CA office Profile Differentiators: • Experience in founding, co-founding or working in a fast-paced startup environment. • Experience in Powersports Finance Industry (motorcycle, ATVs UTVs, PWCs) • Experience in a FinTech startup. • Advanced Professional degree Hourly Range: $30.00/hr. - $36.00/hr., based on experience and qualifications. This role is integral to the setup and success of our funding operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Funding Manager to ensure that approved applicants are processed efficiently and that funds are disbursed to dealers in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in developing and implementing funding policies and procedures. • Manage the funding process for approved loan applications, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds to dealers. • Communicate with Credit Analysts and Dealer Partners to resolve discrepancies and obtain additional information when necessary. • Verify and ensure all necessary documentation is complete and compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements. • Conduct thorough reviews of all collateral supporting documentation for accuracy to ensure proper collateral perfection. • Utilize Loan Origination Systems (LOS) to process and manage funding transactions. • Review checklists to ensure post-closing tasks are performed accurately and the loan file is complete. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all funding transactions and documentation. • Review multiple documentation requests simultaneously. • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve departmental goals. • Independently investigate and resolve document and booking questions. • Provide excellent customer service and support to dealers and customers regarding funding questions and concerns. • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve department- and company-established service levels. • All other job duties as assigned. Qualifications: • High school diploma, a associate degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, or related field. • Previous experience in funding or related financial services is mandatory. • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is recommended. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Ability to perform applicable mathematical calculations. • Familiarity with Loan Origination Systems (LOS). • Research and problem-solving capabilities. • Strong analytical and decision-making skills. • Working knowledge of financial services regulations together with all internal policies and procedures • Working knowledge of various loan structures, payment schedules, amortizations, interest rates • Ability to review and comprehend required entity formation documentation for all 50 states. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Basic understanding of financial information and lending regulations • Ability to work 100% on-site at our Foothill Ranch, CA office.
