Overview We’re seeking a highly strategic and execution-focused Senior PR Manager to play a key role in our global communications efforts. Reporting to our Head of Communications, you’ll drive product and consumer storytelling to help introduce Joby to the world. This individual will serve as the primary communications partner to our Product, Engineering, and R&D teams, translating complex technical advancements into compelling, accessible narratives that resonate with consumer, business, and specialized tech media. You will be instrumental in positioning Joby as a market leader during critical launch phases of its air taxi service. You’ll have direct experience working in product and consumer communications, and you’ll have demonstrable experience of executing awesome PR, from story development to writing releases, pitching and managing PR events. Responsibilities Help manage the execution of Joby’s core PR program, securing impactful coverage across local, national, international, and trade media. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research, develop, and pitch engaging story ideas. Draft and refine press materials, including releases, pitches, briefing documents, fact sheets, scripts, and more. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, influencers, and key industry opinion leaders. Organize and oversee press events, media interviews, and promotional activities. Monitor and analyze media coverage, providing actionable insights to optimize outreach and strategy. Stay ahead of industry trends to ensure Joby’s communications remain relevant and impactful. Support PR efforts for brand events, market launches, and community engagement initiatives, coordinating closely with market teams and external partners. Required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in PR roles, either in-house or at an agency. Proven ability to secure high-quality media coverage through strong relationships with journalists and outlets. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for making complex topics accessible. Meticulous attention to detail and strong project management skills. Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. A history of working with startup or challenger brands, especially in the high-tech or transportation sector and B2C companies. Ability to travel frequently. Candidate resides in Los Angeles or the San Francisco Bay Area. Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $129,400 - $212,100/yr. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service. Overview In this role, you will function as a key liaison between the Supply Chain organization and internal stakeholders including Joby's Executive Teams, Engineering and Manufacturing. Program Managers will collaborate closely with their Supply Chain team members including Global Supply Managers and Supplier Industrialization Engineers across all commodities on behalf of Supply Chain leadership. The Program Manager will work closely with the core Program/Project team to manage high visibility and high value programs, applying program/project management skills to assure the timely and efficient execution of projects. Responsibilities Define, implement, and drive execution of project requirements, workflows, and plans Analyze the complete supply chain for the projects by defining and measuring performance criteria (milestone adherence, sourcing progress, cost savings opportunities, operational efficiency, etc.) to support strategic decision making Manage project timelines and resources and ensure risk mitigation actions are identified and in place to ensure successful program launches Continuously monitor and measure project processes and activities to ensure no delays to the project and that potential risks are identified in a timely manner Develop robust systems to track progress of critical path readiness across our global supply chain Develop and maintain dashboards to track program status and to communicate key project metrics to the broader organization including Engineering, Finance and Manufacturing Connect and coordinate activities between Programs, Engineering, Global Supply Management, Supplier Industrialization, Planning, Logistics, New Program Introduction and Finance to ensure seamless component and product launch, while also limiting exposure to supplier liability/excess inventory during coordinated program phase-out Collect information and generate presentations to clearly and concisely communicate risk to executive team Develop timelines to plan out part readiness against program timing and develop relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure steady flow of information Understand a broad range of manufacturing processes, both at suppliers and internally to better identify and mitigate potential risks Represent Supply Chain team for risk mitigation and escalation discussions with Executive team, in collaboration with commodity Group Manager Understand sourcing process, and drive team for timing and execution accountability Required Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management (MBA or other advanced degree is a plus) At least 5 years of project / program management or strategic, supply chain experience in a fast paced, highly fluid environment; experience in a manufacturing organization strongly preferred Demonstrated, applied experience delivering complex programs and projects Superior analytical skills and the ability to use data and metrics to justify business decisions; knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI is a plus Experience developing succinct, crisp executive summaries and presenting to leadership Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve business objectives.
