The Scrum Master will be responsible for guiding a team of approximately five (5) individuals as part of a 45-person Agile Release Train (ART), ensuring Agile principles, Scrum practices, and SAFe ceremonies are consistently and effectively applied. This role serves as a servant leader and Agile coach, focused on fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement at both the team and ART levels. The Scrum Master will work closely with Product Owners, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and other Scrum Masters to support Program Increment (PI) planning, manage dependencies, and drive predictable, high-quality delivery in alignment with federal program objectives. The ideal candidate brings experience operating in large-scale Agile environments, strong facilitation and communication skills, and the ability to proactively identify and remove impediments that impact team performance. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance Agile discipline with flexibility, promote transparency through meaningful metrics, and help the team adapt to changing priorities while maintaining focus on mission success. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Serve as the Scrum Master for a Scrum team of approximately five (5) team members within a 45-person Agile Release Train (ART) • Facilitate and lead all Scrum and SAFe ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, PI planning, system demos, and ART syncs • Act as a servant leader and Agile coach, reinforcing Scrum, Agile, and SAFe principles and best practices • Partner closely with the Product Owner to support backlog refinement, story readiness, and prioritization • Identify, track, and proactively help remove team-level and ART-level impediments • Coordinate dependencies and risks with other Scrum Masters and the Release Train Engineer (RTE) • Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives, metrics, and actionable improvement plans • Support predictable delivery by facilitating sprint execution, capacity planning, and commitment tracking • Monitor and report on Agile performance metrics such as velocity, burndown, and flow metrics • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, accountability, and trust within the team • Ensure adherence to federal program delivery standards and Agile governance requirements • Support change management by helping the team adapt to evolving requirements and priorities • Communicate status, risks, and dependencies clearly to stakeholders as appropriate MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree (required) • 4+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master on Agile development teams • Experience leading a Scrum team of approximately 5–9 team members • Experience working within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agile Release Train (ART) • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and SAFe principles and practices • Proven ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies and support effective team execution • Demonstrated experience identifying and helping remove impediments and delivery risks • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders • Ability to operate effectively in a federal or regulated environment EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS • SAFe® certification for Scrum Masters PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • SAFe® Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) certification • ServiceNow CSA SECURITY CLEARANCE Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust iTech AG is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
