Review, research, and create BPM cases ensuring timely and accurate case management and collaboration with underwriting and operations teams. | 1-2 years insurance industry experience and 2 years college or equivalent work experience preferred, with strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills. | You will be responsible to review, research, and create BPM cases, ensuring swift assignment of work and accurate case management. In addition you will leverage various resources to determine the appropriate course of action and deliver requests to the correct team promptly as well as collaborate closely with underwriting and operations teams to ensure accuracy and alignment in case processing. You will also be responsible to maintain a 2-hour turnaround time for all submissions to ensure timely case handling and resolution and process submissions routed to both the 360 Mailbox and 360 Queue, ensuring cases are manually created. You will be required to remain accessible by phone throughout the day to field calls for the OMC line, providing responsive support as required. Provide advanced technical risk evaluations and lead development of engineering guidelines for high risk occupancies while supporting underwriting and loss control initiatives. | Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, 15+ years in operations/maintenance/inspection of high-risk industrial equipment, and 5+ years leadership experience. | Responsible for working with both HSB and Munich Re Underwriters to support profitable underwriting, by delivering timely and targeted account evaluations in high risk occupancies. The Principal Specialist will apply advanced technical knowledge and experience to provide detailed risk evaluations of an account by interpreting factors such as design, condition, operations, maintenance, and human elements. The Principal Specialist will determine how to improve/manage the risk through account engineering, loss control initiatives and consultative risk control engineering services. Oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering guidelines on multiple high risk occupanices. Provides training and leadership to other members of the High Risk Group, loss control engineering, and underwriting. Education And Experience • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or equivalent work experience is required • 15+ years of experience in operations, maintenance, inspection, insurance engineering, and/or repairs of process equipment associated with high value/risk occupancies such as power generation, primary metals, mining, pulp & paper, sugar, or glass • 5+ years experience leading/managing personnel and/or major equipment repair/installation projects as part of the experience noted above is preferred Knowledge And Skills • Comprehensive understanding of the machinery, operations, repair timelines, and process flow for multiple high risk occupancies • Excellent interpersonal skills • Excellent written and verbal communication • Self-starter; able to work with limited supervision and manage competing priorities. • Understanding of insurance industry and underwriting terms • Strong presentation and training skills At The Hartford Steam Boiler, a subsidiary of Munich Re, we see Diversity and Inclusion as a solution to the challenges and opportunities all around us.
