Support financial diagnostics, prepare data analyses, evaluate accounting quality, and assist in due diligence activities. | Proficiency in Excel, experience with general ledger data, formal accounting background, and strong analytical skills. | Job Overview I am seeking a Financial Intelligence Analyst with a strong accounting foundation to support financial diagnostics, value-creation work, and light due diligence in a boutique advisory environment. This is a part-time (10–20 hrs/week), 1099 contract role with long-term growth potential as the firm scales in 2026. You will work directly with me on high-impact analytical work that supports CFO-level advisory and M&A readiness. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured, repeatable analytical work, takes pride in precision, and gains satisfaction from bringing order and clarity to messy financial data. Duties Financial Data Preparation & Analysis • Clean, organize, and structure raw financial data at the general ledger level • Build pivot tables, multi-period trend analyses, and MoM / YoY comparisons • Create clear charts, graphs, and reporting visuals • Identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and data gaps Accounting Quality Diagnostics • Evaluate the accuracy and structure of client accounting • Review accrual-based financials for classification and consistency issues • Flag accounting weaknesses and prepare diagnostic summaries Pre-QofE & Due Diligence Support • Prepare adjusted EBITDA schedules (training provided) • Build customer and supplier concentration analyses • Organize and reconcile documentation used in buyer/seller processes • Highlight operational and financial red flags Cash Flow & Strategic Support • Populate and maintain cash flow forecasting models • Track actuals vs forecast • Support development of decision-ready analytical insights Qualifications You will thrive in this role if you: • Have hands-on experience working with general ledger data and accrual-based accounting • Have formal accounting training or experience (audit, public accounting, controllership, or close-cycle accounting) • Are highly proficient in Excel, including pivot tables • Enjoy structured, repeatable analytical work and improving accuracy over time • Work independently with strong follow-through • Communicate clearly and professionally • Are curious about M&A, due diligence, and value creation • Want long-term growth rather than short-term project hopping This role is not a fit for: • Business analysts without accounting backgrounds • Strategy-only or modeling-only candidates • Candidates without direct exposure to GL-level accounting data Job Type: Contract Pay: $67,386.13 - $81,153.19 per year Work Location: Remote
