About the Role Gable is growing and hiring a new Staff Software Engineer - Front End, who will own front-end projects such as the technical direction of our front-end product experience. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can architect, build, and ship polished user interfaces while also raising the bar for front-end quality, systems, and execution across the team. You will partner with Product, Design, Full Stack Engineering, and Leadership to shape the product roadmap, turn ambiguous problems into clear technical plans, and build interfaces that make complex developer and data workflows intuitive. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both deep IC work and technical leadership: setting patterns, making tradeoff decisions, and leading important product initiatives from concept through production. What You Will Do • Lead the architecture and development of Gable’s core front-end product experience • Own large-scale UI initiatives end-to-end, from problem definition and technical design through launch, iteration, and production support • Build highly usable, performant, and accessible interfaces for complex developer, data, and workflow-heavy products • Create reusable front-end components, design systems, and scalable UI patterns that improve engineering velocity and product consistency. • Make thoughtful technical decisions around rendering strategies, state management, testing, performance, accessibility, and maintainability. • Prototype quickly, use data and customer feedback to iterate, and help the team focus on the highest-impact work. • Champion engineering excellence through strong testing practices, code quality, operational awareness, and pragmatic front-end infrastructure. • Help evaluate and integrate AI-assisted development tools and AI-driven product experiences where they improve quality, speed, or user value. • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience • 5+ years of front-end software engineering experience • Recent experience working on a 0-1 product or high-growth/scaling experience • Deep experience building production-grade web applications using React and TypeScript • Strong command of TypeScript, HTML, CSS, browser fundamentals, and modern front-end tooling • Experience designing and building reusable components, component libraries, design systems, or scalable UI frameworks • Solid design intuition and judgment around UI decisions, with the ability to make thoughtful tradeoffs across usability, visual clarity, accessibility, product goals, and engineering constraints • Experience in using AI tools thoughtfully to improve development velocity, testing, product quality, and user experience • Strong understanding of front-end architecture, including state management, performance optimization, accessibility, responsive design, and rendering tradeoffs • Experience working with REST APIs, including the ability to influence API shape and frontend/backend contracts • Strong testing experience with tools such as Jest, Vitest, Playwright, or similar • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences • Proven ability to raise technical standards and guide architectural decisions without needing formal people-management authority • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities can evolve, and ownership is broad Preferred Skills • Experience building developer tools, data products, technical SaaS platforms, workflow automation products, or other complex B2B software • Full-stack experience is a great plus • Experience with AI-driven user experiences, LLM-powered workflows, agentic interfaces, or AI-assisted engineering tools • Familiarity with monorepos, front-end build systems, and front-end infrastructure • Experience with Node.js or backend development, especially when partnering across the full stack • Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD workflows, containerization, or infrastructure-adjacent engineering • Experience with Figma or similar design/prototyping tools • Be part of a pioneering team that is redefining the data industry. • Work on cutting-edge technology with the opportunity to make a significant impact. • Collaborate with a talented and passionate team of engineers and industry experts. • Enjoy a dynamic, fast-paced, and supportive work environment. • Competitive compensation package and medical, dental, and vision benefits - free for employees • 401k • Unlimited PTO • Commuter perks If you are passionate about the intersection of software engineering and data, and eager to contribute to the future of data management and collaboration, we would love to hear from you. Responsibilities: As a Senior Software Engineer, your primary responsibilities will be to own design and delivery of full stack product features. A key component of your work will be to scope out and build the best-possible data solutions to green-field problems at scale. This includes working directly with customers to define the problem, shortlisting tools and technologies, implementing and validating production grade software, evaluation, and deployment. You have minimum 5 years of writing production grade software, ideally with experience at a B2B SaaS company Experience with a modern object-oriented language such as Python, Go and Java You’re excited about being cross-functional and owning the lifecycle of building novel solutions to complex problems — from development to deployment. You stay up-to-date with the latest developments in your area of interest in both software development and the data space. You’re comfortable reading technical papers and documentation, and reproducing the results in a production environment. You’ve previously worked with a variety of backend technologies, including Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Pulumi), relational databases and NoSQL databases, and modern API frameworks. You’re really excited about solving the biggest challenges in the modern data stack and building applications that leverage these technologies for solving complex data problems.
