Assist in assembly line operations, conduct quality and safety checks, and support continuous improvement activities. | High school diploma or GED, basic math and organizational skills, knowledge of 5S practices, and ability to develop charts and graphs. | Essential Functions • Replace assembly operators in their absence on production lines • Assist on assembly lines to assure smooth running of lines • Report Abnormal Condition to Group leader and Supervisor. • Conduct worker observation of team members to insure they are adequately trained. • Record skill level of subordinates on MFWTT. • Construct line balance and “Yamazumi” charts to increase line efficiency. • Accurately Report production, in process defect, and scrap information. • Conduct Preventative Maintenance of assigned assembly equipment. • Travel to customer location if needed. • Coordinate and document “Change Point Control” • Checks data entry of Quality and Facility Checks and confirms by signature. • Inform superior of abnormal conditions immediately • Conduct 5S of assigned work area and teach to team member. • Train new Team Members on shift for extended periods of time • Rotate staffing for complete training of all operators • Develop Kaizen ideas • Perform Kaizen Activity on assembly line • Complete daily reports and charting • Train operators to standardized work • Responsible for Quality and Safety of Assembly line • Develop and support continuous improvement activities and improve company measurables • Understand process and run the assembly equipment • Audit Standardized Work (Audit Plans, Use Check Sheet) Job Dimensions (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) • Ability to understand basic calculations with or without a calculator • Knowledge of the manufacturing area—Throttle Body, Fuel Pump/IACV, Canister, Die Cast, Machining—and its products • Basic computing skills, including ability to manipulate data in Microsoft Excel, IBM Notes, and AS400 Education Requirements • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Work Experience Requirements • Ability to make charts and graphs • Good math skills • Good organizational skills • Knowledgeable of 5S Practices and Principles • Able to develop and execute Jishuken Activities • Good verbal and written communication skills • Ability to quickly recognize problems • Ability to quickly grasp and apply new concepts • Good understanding of the assembly lines • Ability to run lines efficiently and understand quality and facility checks
