Position Details • Location: Onsite in Kannapolis, NC • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM – 4:30PM • Starting Pay: $18 per hour, with potential for a higher rate based on experience Responsibilities • Safely operate a stand-up forklift (order selector/cherry picker) to pull and prepare outbound customer orders. • Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and packages. • Use technology like RF devices to sort, scan, and prepare orders. • Accurately and timely receive, verify, stage and stock all incoming material. • Clean the workspace as you go and participate with the team in keeping our facility clean, safe, and accident free. • Must adhere to all safety regulations, including the correct usage of personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes wearing a safety harness with a maximum weight capacity of 400 lbs. Position Overview: As part of Ferguson’s Sustainable Solutions team, the Business Development Manager for Utility & Government Rebates will help implement the team’s strategy to promote the sale of high efficiency products through government and utility funded rebate programs, striving to deliver a best-in-class contractor customer experience! You will engage with partners within the incentive and rebate (I&R) ecosystem such as Program Implementers, Utilities, local/state energy offices and Vendors to influence program design. You will also be responsible for providing guidance on I&R program participation to field leadership, educating and supporting both associates and customers about I&R programs in their market, and helping customers understand how they might incorporate rebates into their business. Internally, you will work with Field Sales Leaders and in-market Sales associates, Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, and Strategic Sales to streamline processes for government and utility sponsored midstream rebates and/or participate in direct install programs. Location: • It is highly preferred that the associate currently live in the Western part of the US and is willing to work out of a local Ferguson office at least three days a week. • Our ideal candidate will be located in CA, WA, CO, NV, OR, AZ. • This role can be Remote if you are in the Western US or Hybrid if you are currently in the Newport News, VA, area; per Company Policy. • The territory covers the Western region of the country and will require regular travel, approximately 25% of the time. Primary Job duties: • Lead the development and execution of local (midstream) rebate programs or direct install programs, employing available state and federal funding to drive Ferguson’s participation and align with enterprise-wide strategic goals. • Responsible for the implementation and tracking of I&R program important metrics i.e., providing reporting and analysis on program activity, sales trending and projections and rebate status. • Tracks relevant regulatory policy/mandates in flight that could impact I&R funding. Works to grow and maintain deep subject matter expertise of I&R programs via local, state and federal funding for high efficiency products. • Supports the work to standardize operational processes to streamline I&R participation. • Coordinate with Utilities, Government Agencies, Program Implementers and internal Ferguson functional departments to ensure alignment on rebate reimbursement and allocation process to ensure maximum credit is received. • Works with Manager of Utility and Government Rebates to influence relationships within the I&R partner eco-system (Utilities, Program Implementers, local & state energy offices, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), ENERGY STAR, the Department of Energy (DOE) and strategic suppliers (OEMs)) to develop and negotiate rebate program design and identify new revenue opportunities i.e., direct install programs. • Identifies operational & sales data transmission process gaps relevant to qualifying I&R product & sales data. • Leads and supports implementation of strategic I&R programs across Customer Groups (CGs) in collaboration with local sales and centralized I&R operations support team. • Oversees the development of key projects involving incentives, rebates or local, state, federal (IRA) funding and is accountable for the successful closure of business deals. • Develop and implement associate and contractor customer rebate training to grow I&R sales opportunities i.e., contractor value proposition to participate and what information is needed at the point of sale to ensure a seamless reimbursement process. • Collaborates with Legal to ensure adherence to Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and to oversee the successful completion of utility program agreements. • Collaborates with Communications and Marketing to develop communication plans to ensure relevant sales associate awareness and visibility of local I&R offerings. • Establish & maintain a communication cadence with defined I&R partners across functions and relevant Region leaders. Preferred Skills and Qualifications • Strong background in incentive/rebate programs and familiarity with local, state, and federal funding for high-efficiency products and solutions. • Experience collaborating with Utilities, Program Implementers, and local/state energy offices is strongly valued. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Development Management is necessary. • Proven sales experience in the HVAC and Plumbing sectors (residential and commercial) is preferred. • Prior internal field or HQ experience at Ferguson is preferred. • Ability to deliver impactful presentations and lead in-person and virtual trainings for both internal and external partners. • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication, active listening, and the ability to influence and collaborate across functions. • Analytical, strategic, and problem-solving approach with the ability to think critically and drive effective decision-making. • Highly organized and self-motivated, with a competitive drive, strong time management skills, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities. • Broad product and vendor knowledge, especially in Plumbing, HVAC mechanical systems, and Appliances, is a plus. • Proficient in using computers, tablets, and mobile devices to perform daily tasks. • Quick to adapt to evolving technologies and capable of navigating various digital platforms and portals. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Airtable, etc.). • Valid driver’s license required, approx. 25% travel required.
