Role and Responsibilities Data is the foundation of FBN, core to who we are and what we do. We strive to embed data in every aspect of our decision making in order to help us operate effectively and better serve our farmer members. The Analytics Engineer sits at the intersection of data science, analyst, and data engineering skill sets, bringing rigorous software engineering practices to our data efforts. Your job is to build tools and infrastructure to support the analytics, data science, and AI efforts across the organization. DBT (Data Build Tool) & AI Data Marts: Design, build, and maintain DBT data marts and models to enrich FBN’s data warehouse, accelerating data science, R&D, and serving as input for our larger AI strategy. Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the key partner to BI Analysts and business stakeholders, using DBT models to power critical business reports and Tableau dashboards. Pipeline Ownership: Own the cloud data pipelines, including participating in code reviews and building frameworks for auditing, error logging, and data governance. Data Quality & Security: Identify, investigate, and solve data quality issues, ensuring the data is secured and reliable. Enablement: Provide technical guidance and empower the organization by building and supporting self-serve tools for data exploration and analysis. Strategy: Work closely with your manager to develop, plan, and execute against FBN’s data roadmap. Required Skills Experience: 5+ years of experience designing and maintaining cloud data warehouses and pipelines at a data-driven business. DBT Experience: Hands-on experience using DBT for data transformation and modeling. SQL & Modeling: Deep experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling and a strong understanding of SQL. Data Warehousing: Extensive hands-on experience with modern technologies for data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL. Communication: Ability to succinctly communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders. Preferred Skills & Knowledge (Bonuses) Analytics Tools: Experience with data visualization/dashboards and tools such as Tableau. Cloud & Modern Stack: Familiarity with AWS and other modern data stack tools (e.g., Fivetran, Redshift). Data Science Support: Experience accelerating data science and R&D efforts and interest in supporting data science teams. Data Quality: Familiarity with automated data quality monitoring and anomaly/outlier detection tools. Shell: Basic experience using the command line (shell) to execute scripts and run tools like DBT locally. Programming: Experience with Python or other object-oriented programming languages. Security Minded: A security-minded individual who knows how to enable the business while keeping our data safe. AgTech Interest: Experience working in agriculture is a plus, but not required. This salary range may vary based on geography and the higher cost of labor in some metropolitan areas. Beyond Base Pay, FBN also offers all full-time/permanent employees competitive total compensation packages that include equity compensation (dependent upon job level), incentive/bonus plans (dependent upon position), paid holidays plus an additional floating holiday, work flexibility including paid time off and remote work if your role is eligible, parental leave, benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, short & long term disability, life insurance, 401k, HSA employer contributions, and more. In this role, you will: architect and implement back-end systems for the full lifecycle of financial services architect and deploy scalable infrastructure for genAI-driven features, working closely with data scientists to productize agronomic models at scale own full feature sets and significant portions of the codebase. collaborate closely with product management, data science, and business leaders continue to push your engineering skills through complex projects and collaborations with highly experienced engineers The Person You are the right person for this role if you have a passion for building robust and scalable systems that tame complex problems, with an appreciation for quality and testability.
